2023 Portal Recruiting (CLOSED)

With nobody else leaving, are we still at the 85 or will there have to be some creative route shuffling to get there in the fall?

Apparently Sark  was happy enough with all of the scholarship athletes that none of them were pushed out. This seems like an indication that none of the guys on the roster are seen as expendable,  and that none of the position groups have glaring weaknesses that need portal infusions.

I know the WR is stacked, but I did think the #'s were low.  Maybe this is a sign of things for the future with only being 8-10 deep total

Didn't Sark comment on the team having way too many WRs when he took over? I remember some comment about the numbers at positions being way off from what he desired.

Ladies and Germs we have buy in. Thompson was the only portal loss that stung in any way. This with development and top recruiting classes has us on the way
Yes we do!

I see Maalik Murphy as a perfect example of player buy in.

The moment Arch committed everyone was talking about the QB1 competition between Quinn and Arch. Maalik was basically another guy in the room. That has to make a kid question their desire to stay.

Watching the spring game it seems that Maalik had decided he was going compete and make someone beat him out of his spot.
That says something to me; Maalik has the physical and mental qualities you need in order to be an elite QB. It also says Maalik trusts Sark and AJ to develop him and every position on the field is an actual open competition.

You don’t get buy in without trust. This team believes in Sark.

Agree, I am pleasantly surprised we didn't have more leaving. There are 1 or 2 that I would like to see leave because they'll never play here. But it was a success as a whole for me.

You're right. Sark likes his WR room with 2-3 less receivers than most programs.
