2023 Portal Recruiting (CLOSED)

I used to think the same, but I have changed my view.  He is the top dog receiver at a&m and if he comes here he has several names to contend with.  If you have an ego, you want to impress and I don't think he could get the same stats here vs a&m.  Yes, we would pass, but he would need to be the top target here to get the same stats, which with Sanders, Cook, Worthy, Whit and even Neylor (sp) seems unlikely.  If you are top dog, you get more NIL opportunities.  Second, I also wonder if he wants to man up that it was a mistake to say no to us.  Third, if he really wants to leave for a good team, are we sure it would be us vs Georgia or Alabama or USC?  Lastly, if he choose his current shit show based on NIL, is his prior year NIL going down or could we offer more?  If anything, one would expect them to pay up for the promise they saw last year.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to create the DB nightmare trying to cover all of our studs, but am starting to think if he wanted to make such a big decision to leave, it would have happened because it would have been festering during the season to boil over during the first portal.  The only motivation the spring brings is getting the early enrollees involved and seeing what little is there but that is less likely than the spring bringing optimism and kool-aid.

Hope I am wrong as he is quite talented.
That all that makes sense. I also suspect that Petrino will be viewed as a positive for Stewart and the offense in general.

Time will tell,  but I also would be surprised.

I’m sure I will get push-back on this… but I think if Evan Stewart were to transfer to Texas (I highly doubt he will), he’s our #1 WR the day he enrolls.

He’s an incredible talent.  And… he fits much better in the Sark offense than the Jimbo.

While I believe he could play any WR spot, I am convinced he would be an AA from the slot position in this offense. He would be the closest thing to a Cee Dee Lamb that Texas has had in my opinion.

You go to the hot hand as far as WRs go. If Stewart is catching anything you throw at him, you increase his throws and decrease the throws to brick hands worthy.

We wasted way too many throws on him last year. He needs a threat to his manhood on the roster.

As a Frisco Liberty grad he’s a special player.

Sounds like Sark is eyeballing a WR from USC – Gary Bryant. Former top 50 player.

44 receptions for 579 yards and 7 touchdowns last year.

Mass exodus from Stillwater. Several big contributing players and the DC. They also collapsed half way through the season. Very strange

Interesting timing with Texas looking at Samples and Hudson being very close to him.
A TCU mod confirmed earlier that he submitted his papers to the portal.....but then removed his name. So apparently, he isn't portalling.
