Yeah, but steroids became illegal and NCAA started demanding testing. And that was the end of that.

Meanwhile, partial qualifiers were no longer welcome at Nebraska, thanks in large part to Texas.

Then they tried to blame Texas' entry into the Big 12 as their big problem and reason for exiting to the Big 10.
They also lost the ability to get 10 or 15 extra offinsive lineman every year who ostensibly were on FFA scholarships.

Man, been rough in here for awhile. Lol

Hopefully Sark can close a couple of these coin flips. We are going to need them.

IT saying Texas will continue to recruit OL Kelvin Banks (Humble Summer Creek) and CB Terrance Brooks (Little Elm) because they're obviously too good to stop doing so, but also because the staff feels they have strong, pro-Texas influences in each family.

One thing that baffles me is the OL and WR recruiting.  I do get it that Texas hasn't put a lot of OL prospects in the NFL compared to Alabama.  However, didn't they just go out and hire the guy who is at least partially responsible for all of those NFL prospects from Bama?  At some point the coaching has to be a draw for prospects, right?  Same with the WR room.  Sark is obviously a mastermind with offense and knows how to create mismatches for WRs to flourish.  I get it that they suck until they don't, but they hired the guys that didn't suck recently.

WR Jordan Hudson of Garland High is another guy Texas will continue to pursue despite his recent verbal to SMU, per IT.

The new staff has a K-State connection with Coach Coleman spending years in Manhattan, and Hudson's father having played there.

It's unclear if their paths crossed at some point, but it's helped with maintaining communication with the family.

Wow! I like it but not sure what that means for our other secondary pics.

But Austin is a very nice plan B.
