2019 Recruiting Board/Thread

I expected to see some new OL names come up by now. Are we happy with just a potential 3 man class there?

Per 247, these are some names to look at

High school

OL Ira Henry, St. Louis Trinity Catholic (MO) ( Teammates with Marcus Washington)

OL Camron Johnson, Shadow Creek

JUCO Guys

OL James Price, Tyler JC

OL Maisen Knight, Ventura College

OL Desmond Bland, Arizona Western C.C.

OL Tim Anderson, Saddleback College

I will go that Texas will keep it close, but fall short.

Georgia 31

Texas    24

Could anyone explain why Hornsports still has the UT-OU game December 1 on the ticker? I keep trying to forget about that game.

Army All American Game set for Noon Saturday on NBC.

These are the Texas commits who will be featured in that game, all on the West team:

  • WR Jordan Whittington (Cuero, Texas)
  • S Tyler Owens (Plano, Texas)
  • LB De’Gabriel Floyd (Westlake, Cali)

Target

  • ATH Bru McCoy (Mater Dei, Cali)

McCoy will announce at some point during the game.  :D

Holgorsen heading to UH.  Guys, the Big 12 is ours for the taking.  Yeah, OU will still be tough, but we will always be the more physical team in that matchup.  While Riley is an offensive genius, he's a soft HC with a soft culture.  Who will be the QB next year??  May lose 4/5 OL.

We also may only have 2 hurry up offenses in the Big 12 now with the 2 Oklahoma schools being the only ones.  WVU and TCU will be down next year.  The Kansas schools are kinda just meh' IMO.  Tech is an unknown atm, but we should win that one just about everytime.  Baylor could be a pesky out, Rhule has done a good job.  Oklahoma State loses its entire DL plus main backups and 1 LB.  Also no idea who they'll have at QB next year and we get them to open up conference play and first 3 games for them are 2 cupcakes and Oregon State.  @ Iowa State may be our toughest conference game next year, but if Butler and Montgomery leave then that changes things big time IMO.

Beat Georgia tomorrow and watch the recruiting floodgates open, hell they may already have with getting to the Conference Championship Game and NY6 Bowl.

Nice post.

Others sites could say that Texas loses it’s entire DL, both ILBs and both corners.

But.... I’m not arguing your point.

Same could have said about OU this year. IMO OU will always be the team to beat in conference play.

There is no proof that Riley is a soft coach with a soft culture. He's a had a bad defense for his first two years, however that had to do with having to take baby Stoops as his DC.

I agree with this to an extent. Part of OU's defensive problems is that they don't recruit well on defense, certainly not like they do on offense.

Riley is offensive guru and kids know it, they see it, they want to play in it. No kid on the other side of the ball wants to play in that D.

Riley is a finess guy on offense, but his concepts require a physical OL.

So I don't think they're soft. I just don't think they're very talented on D.

It all boils down who Riley hires as DC. Hopefully, it won't be a good hire. It's impressive that OU was able to go to the playoffs twice with Stoops and an intern as the DC.
