2019 Recruiting Board/Thread

I think the key number to look at for OL is 15. You usually want 15 scholarship OL on the roster every year. I think Texas has right at 15 this year and lose at least 3 in Anderson, Rodriguez, and Vahe to graduation. Hopefully none of the others transfer. So I think Texas will take 4 OL this year.
Are you counting players redshirting in your optimum number??

I’m more worried about DL recruits. I feel like we need one blue chip recruit for this class.

I'm with you on this one.  However, I'm excited for the young kids UT has waiting.  Ojomo, Coburn, Carson, and the athletic William's.  The Horns only lose Hager, Nelson, and Omenihu this year, but replace them with combination on Roach (hope he moves back here), Graham, Bimage, Carson and Williams at DE spot. While Wilbon, Coburn, maybe Chisholm, Ojomo, and Giles man the DT spot.  Only Wilbon, Giles and Chisholm will be seniors so adding a Tuitele would be awesome.  After that, I think the depth chart is looking good for the next 2 years.  I kind of see Carson moving inside at some point.

One more point, I guess I kind of see Ojomo as our high 4* DT recruit for 2019 based on how young he was (16) for the 2018 class.  Barring an injury, I think he would've been highly rated for the 2019 class.  Coburn and Ojomo at the DT spot for the 3-4 years is what I see.

Agree - if the staff is high on these guys last year we have wiggle room to sign a few projects on the DL and load up in other places where we need more options - like LB and WR (if we lose our big boys).

LSU boards think John Emery could flip to LSU.  That'd be two RB takes for them if it happens and may open up for Noah Cain.

Would close the door on Cain to LSU but would open the door for UGA to get back in on him. I’m not very optimistic on Cain regardless of how that plays out.

Supposedly JUCO LB Caleb Johnson is starting to hear from his childhood favorite team out west.  Rumor is it's UCLA.

To all the OL comments I count 11 returning OL for next season. 17 is a better number for OL. And Hand is a great coach but he needs an adquate number of bodies to work with.
