2019 Recruiting Board/Thread

When are the big boys visiting?  Maybe just me, but seems like most news/ commit watch candidates are dbs and wrs. Where's the beef? I know the staff has a plan, but I would feel better with a few more big bodies looking more interested.
Good question. Seems we'll have new names or will flip some previous offers.

Take a look at the offers along the OL and tell me who's coming. I don't see it. Some have thrown around Bragg's name. IDK. I don't see it.

The staff is taking the patient approach with spots being limited from here on out. Names will surface as they always do.

The other JUCO we offered that recently committed to OU would have been a good get for DE/4i as well.  Hope maybe he'll still take an OV.
Yes, Jacoby Jones. Both are similar in size around 6-5 250 ish. I haven’t seen his video but hope he visits us

Unless he expedites his timeline I’m not going to worry just yet. Texas will probably get the last visit as long as he stays on schedule.
Like I've said multiple times, my gut tells me Arkansas. And I am very close to this recruitment BTW.

He could but that’s not where I would put him at all, not sure what staffs plan is. I want my X in Colin Johnson, D Wright, D Demas, B McCoy mold.
The Fong just CB'd Catalon to Arkiesaw. So perhaps Powell's sudden appearance in this thread has something to do with that?

Catalon was seen as a nickel back.

I think it's pretty much a given Jamison switches back to NB in the spring with Smith coming in.

So could the reason Texas is looking at other WR candidates be because Collin Johnson/LJH might go pro due to their success this year?

Leg is looking healthy!

i noticed he played some safety? How often is he doing that? Not sure I’d like that if I were Tom Herman or Tim Beck.

I’ve always told my kids to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. With that in mind then I think Herman should be prepared for both of them to go pro and should be working on replacements for both. Dev should definitely stay one more year though. If we keep winning and they have great stats then I think they will seriously consider leaving.

His team has no defense to speak of so if he does play defense it is on critical downs when games need to be closed out like in that one. He has his work cut out this year. In the past he had the best WR in SETX and could put up points to where he wouldnt be needed on D.  Now the offense struggles mightily. If they have 400 total yards a game, Shug has 330 of them type of deal.

Also He felt like they would've been undefeated in the regular season last year had he played some CB against Nederland. The very next game in bi district, he ended the  72-69 TD fest vs Crosby with a game saving tackle on a hook and ladder play. Shug would've been a monster safety for those who have known him.

I was pondering this earlier. Losing both would sting, so I imagine the staff is going to be doing some recruiting of them when the season wraps up.
