Keep in mind, things are not well at USC, financially. That was one of the reasons they are retaining Helton. It would cost them $15 million to do it – THEN – who knows how much more for a new guy and his staff?

God Forbid if SC gets into a bidding war with an NFL team

I heard on the HornFM that if USC hires KK it could impact the Jake Smith recruitment.

lol, who trotted that out there? Jake Smith is one of the most solid verbals we have.

Can anyone tell me if there was any recruit that made up his mind on where he was going?? Even the media was sure of where the recruit was going that when it got up to the last minute of the announcement ceremony that someone blurted it out and he switched the last minute???

I know lots of people here like TFB so they're saying the Bru sweepstakes is over. Bru was glad Helton was retained and is apparently become good friends with JT Daniels....  Well good luck to the young man..

I don't understand this logic. OC gets fired. Program is dumpster fire. Very similar to Charlie hiring Gilbert situation (granted KK more of a splash). There's a very good chance everyone's out after next year. And Bru is going to jump onto that sinking ship just because of an OC hire? He seems more savvy than that.

Are you saying he was see-sawing and looking for any reason for SC? I guess that is the only explanation that makes sense. But I thought we were better than a see-saw.
I’m saying the kid is a life long USC fan in southern Cali with several ties to the program. This is recruiting and the straight forward logic doesn’t always apply. Bru is a savvy kid, but he’s still a kid and there is no doubt USC has been where his heart is for awhile. Texas has made it extremely difficult up to this point, but USC has always had the proximity on its side and has been the comfort pick.
