Daniel Son, who will be the next commit to this class? I know it's Christmas and no one probably knows, but if someone put a Reindeer to your head and made you give an answer – who would it be?

Things are a little murky with the targets on the board currently. Not too long ago I would have said Courtre Alexander, but the Arkansas offer has changed things a bit.

I realize you're not asking me, but I have seen the answer in a passed on post from 247.

Apparently, the writers at 247 all have contributed to a weekly feature called the "eyes of texas" or some such. Roach and EJ are no longer contributing to that piece and will do their stuff separately instead.

Had a Monarch sighting today. He showed up in that FB Revolution18 group that Chip joined a few days ago. He's going by his actual name, I guess since most do on FB. I've been a member for about two weeks, but now I'm not sure what I'm surrounded by there. lol

I think this may be my last day in that group.

I saw on 247 Bobby Burton is claiming the Chip articles were truthful although ill timed.  I am confused.

Honestly, who cares what Burton thinks.  There are 3 guys on that site that dont have an agenda and thats Howe, Roach, and Holland.  Bottom ine is that an,article like that can be written about 3/4 (if not all) Power 5 programs.  I' sure there are some disgruntled players on the team.  I can think of a couple who's parents are outspoken. However, that's more than likely the overwhelming minority.

To me, what's the end state for writing an article like that by Chip?  Also, dont tell me it was "ill-timed" when they had control of the timing.  I think it was shotty journalism, sloppy, and incomplete work with a biased agenda.  As I stated before I have no doubt there are disgruntled players and parents, but I would bet that's the minority.  Chip should've painted the entire picture in my mind.

I am not a fan of Chip, never have been but other than click bait what is this "biased agenda" you speak of and the agenda of the other people excluding Roach, Howe, and Holland?  Clarification?

The way this entire fiasco was handled was bad.  Its ironic to release a click bait article then to start banning your paying subs afterwards during the backlash.  Seems counter productive.   Burton stated clearly in the post that the articles were truthful and Chip actually held back some damaging stuff.  Burton went on to call out the Texas staff for not being truthful and said 247 subs should only expect the truth whether its good, bad, or indifferent for Texas.  He also stated he knew Chip was writing those articles ahead of time.

I am not paying member there, no need to be since I get everything I need here.   

To be very clear I am not defending Burton or Chip nor am I condemning Burton.  Hell I havent even read Chips articles because hes a drama queen IMO.  I am just catching up after a busy Christmas season.  Do I hate that his article was used against us in Bonnito, yes.  Just trying to figure it out draw my own conclusion.

First of all, I said Roach, Howe, and Holland DIDN' T seem to have an agenda.  I tried a membership there in the past and I always got the impression that Burton was completely negative towards the past two staff in a vast majority of his writings.  It just seemed to me he was more interested in his narrative than telling both sides of the story.  He also seemed to be especially negative towards Strong and his ways from the get go.  Granted some of it was warranted, but again I felt he didn' tell the complete story.  Im not as familiar with Chip, but I got the same feeling in some of his writings.  It was enough for me to cancel my subscription and stay here at Hornsports.  These are just my impressions and opinions.  I don't need a sunshine pumping site, but I don't mind looking through burnt orange glasses now and then when it calls for it. This site does that, imo.

Bias seemed to insinuate some hidden agenda to hurt Texas.  Like he secretly tried to help ou or something.  Which I doubt although the timing of the hit pieces seem like it.  Just wanted clarification, thats all.

As for sunshine pumping and burnt orange glasses, etc.  I think we are all in the same boat at the end of the day.  We all want our Horns to succeed in the end.  Some are just more patient than others.  As of now I still trust Herman will get the program where it should be.  May have to wait another 2-3 years though.

I watched the 2006 USC v Texas game on LHN last night.  Our team was stacked top to bottom.  I mean hell we had VY, Charles, Great OL, Griffin, Ross, Huff...We have a long way to go to get back to that point the new DB class was a great start.
