I find this to be totally unacceptable. Might I suggest we head up a posse and hunt this guy down. He's stepped way over our line.

That is egregious. Sign me up for the posse.

This part kind of bummed me out "it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him.” but I think my dazzling personality could compensate for my old, unattractiveness. Hope springs eternal.

Another Random question:

What happened to Higdon? I thought he went to 247 but I haven't seen anything from him.

Guess I am just a dumb ole country boy. I cannot see the concern over Jamison and Cook. With the commits Texas has and the returing DB's- Unless Cook and Jamison can play in the OL IMO Texas does not need DBs

1. You can never have too many DBs that can cover or guys that can rush the passer.

2. You have to keep talent in the pipeline. Texas’ top DBs are upperclassmen and soon will graduate or opt to go pro so you have to plan for the future.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Guess we will have to disagree. With the 85 limit you can have too many at one position. Example for a couple of years Texas had too many WRs and this hurt as had too few OL, OL a weakness at Texas for several years now That being said I am sure you know more about football and recruiting than I do. But even a dumb guy can see the value of a balanced roster,

Things will work itself out so that things end up more balanced. Gotta take into account there will likely be attrition between now and this time next year.

I agree mostly with your statement but WR is our deepest position and youngest on the roster and will be for a while.

We should be going for the OL and DL as a priority
Texas is more heavy with WR bodies that project to the outside moreso than the slot, which is why I say you need more guys like Reggie. It’s kinda like how they have more Guard bodies than tackle bodies along the offensive line.

And the OL/DL is a priority for this staff. It’s just not a great year for that to be a need position and they are taking their time evaluating.

2019 will have lots of bodies on both sides of line.  That will be a full class and we should load up on both sides.  Tyler Johnson and Kenyon Green are 2 highly rated Tackles and we have a legit shot with both.  Demarvin Leal is a must get IMO for DL.  Rack up the W's and we might get some OOS studs as well.

As for this class, a finish of Ossai, Perkins and maybe Carson would be a great finish on DL and getting the JUCO OT and 1 of Angilau or WIRE at OL would be nice as well.

The lack of HS quality might be the reason we aren't  focused on OL & DL recruits. I don't think we want to "reach" just to fill spots.

2016 in Texas 30 of the top 100 were OL, DT, WDE, SDE (We got 5 of the top 105 OL and 5 of the top 100 DL in the nation)

12 of our 29 were lineman in 2016

2017 in Texas 32 of the top 100 were OL, DT, WDE, SDE (We got 1 of the top 100 OL and  2 of the top 100 DL in the nation our third DL didn't make it)

6 of our 18 were lineman in 2017

2018 in Texas 25 of the top 100 are OL, DT, WDE, SDE (We have 2 of the top 52 OL and 1 of the top 50 DL in the nation) we are close on a few more.

3 of our 18 verbal's are lineman

We added quality big's in 2016, quantity in 2017.

I expect we will get a few more for 2018 but its just not a great cycle for lineman.

We have 5 Offensive Tackles on our roster.

One is a converted guard (Okafor)

one is a true freshman (Kerstetter)

another freshman (JP)

Senior Juco (Tristan)

Transfers (Delance) and injuries (Conner) have decimated this position.  What happens if we lose another or two to injury.  Tristan is gone next year(thank god) and probably Conner.   So that leaves three.

Unless im mistaken we have ONE OT in the class right now....the frisco kid.  Ghirami or however you spell it.

But dont reach for an extra body?  Thats just irresponsible.  You really want to go into the next year with three returning OT's and only 2 have playing time?  Crazy.

You better search and get 2-3 in this class even if they arent stellar.  Hell we have one right now that is needed in tristan and hes far from stellar.

When you are starving you dont hold out for a porterhouse at Mcdonalds.

Agree, getting numbers really doesn't help you much unless you look elsewhere.

Next year should be a much better field to choose from.

I disagree.  There are always gems out there that arent highly ranked.  KState finds them every year.

We cant go into next year with 3 returning OT's just because there isnt a slew 4 star and 5 stars to pick from.

Go find em.  My memory is terrible but wasnt Conner a 3 star?

Connor will be back this year and may return for another season depending on a few things. There's an injury to consider now and how that might affect him if he went in now rather than later.

You've got Patrick Hudson who was doing really well before getting hurt. He'll be back and is only frosh.

Like it or not, we just found out Terrell Cuney can play. He's got another year.

What we lose to graduation – TE Kendall Moore, OT Nickelson, TE Andrew Beck. Thats it.

That hurt with all those DL’s transferring. We had what appeared to be a good haul and then they opted to transfer. That is the way it goes sometimes with a new coaching staff. If they don’t want to get with what Tom Herman is doing then it is best that they move on. TM will fill the roster with his kind of guys and the W’s will come.

I love Hudson.  Kid can ball but I thought he was a OG not OT.  Is he playing OT?

I think he's played both, but not sure. But IMO he's one of those who can play both.
