2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

I understand Justin Fields went down in his game with what I've been told is more or less a total separation of the ligament with the bone (knee). Its pretty serious.

Texas really needs DL and OL.  Its a down year for both.  We keep focusing on skill positions but yesterday it was pretty obvious OL and DL are weak.

Muhammad was at the Michigan game yesterday, he ain't coming here.  B. Brown may not either unless this gets turned around in a hurry.

A loss has less to do with it than you think. For years, we'd host recruits at the OU game, then get beat 60-something to not enough and the prevailing thought seemed to be "they need me." I'm not sure we ever lost a recruit from those pathetic losses.

Mr. Brown can be sold on early playing time and an obvious need for his services.

With MM, we may have to purchase an F-350 before its done.

Adrian Peterson I think said he made his decision after he visited for a RRS that OU destroyed us in, but I think your point still stands and that's the exception, not the rule.

After seeing some quotes, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest to see Dominick Wood-Anderson flip or re-open his recruitment down the line.

I was worried about the loss affecting the class but most bought into Herman Hype and Saturday was a jolt of reality.  Fans and recruits alike.   It will be interesting to see how the current players perform from "buy in" standpoint going forward

Seriously. I wonder if the losing mindset of the Horns will go away before the current players leave?

At some point it has to be or this will be a perpetual problem.

Strong and Herman were successful at other schools before coming here.  So you have to wonder, did Louisville and Houston have that much of a better coachable superior talent pool to Texas?  Our DL and OL are so bad its unfathomable.

For 3 years we kept hearing it was talent well we are in year 4 so its not the depleted talent of the Mack Brown era anymore.

Getting used to losing is a problem.  Call it Heart or whatever.   We keep hearing about the culture problem.  Apparently the coaches are not immune to the culture issue either.

Herman and staff were not prepared for this game whether its not planning early enough or bad game plans or personnel etc.  They were out-coached.   The blame lies with them.

If a player doesnt show any heart or improvement, freaking bench them.  MJ and Wheeler are constantly screwing up run fits.

Play Thompson over Boyd, because apparently Boyd is more concerned with his lil cute dances with PJ Locke than he is staying with his assignment.

Another questionable personnel decision is why we didnt see Gary Johnson at all.  He is supposed to be better against the run yet he didnt even see action except on ST.  I dont get it

No changes in the depth chart for SJSU.

WTH?  Where is Reese Liato at TE?  I thought it was a one game suspension?
