2017 Recruiting Thread Part 1

Don't think there is anything to see with Brock Wright.
Why is it that the tight ends in Texas are never interested in coming to the 40 acres smh? And there's still no interest even though Brian Kelly's job security is very low at the moment?

Daniel, anything to make of Hines still haveing an in-home with Herman mid next week or should we just forget about this one? Any chance he'd take an UOV next weekend after in-home?

Not expecting anything to come of it. If he was seriously considering texas I think he would have pushed his announcement back.

- Staff did not offer Bryson Smith, who's playing a wait-and-see game with Kyle Allen (he'll likely go where the latter doesn't).

What does his dad have to say about it on social media?
I don't twitter so I'm not sure. Saw it on another Horn web-site.

I will see your Foreman, Williams and Ford... And raise you Heard, Jefferson, many a WR and plenty of others to include our outstandingly horrible secondary... As a whole Strong failed miserably at developing these kids into football players that can win games. There may be some difference in what you and I see as "developed" but thats neither here nor there. Imagine what our O would have looked like if you remove Foreman. Do we win any games?

I think we have a ton of talent on this team... And I think it was managed incredibly poorly. Strong got the D worked out pretty well but then the O completely fell into a shit pit and never climbed out.

I get your point and I know it wasn't all bad but I expect Herman and Co to really do some developing of these kids rendering the best from them instead of whatever they choose to give. Great coaches/great tacticians don't need 4-5 years to have success. Herman is just one example of that. I believe Herman has the ability to game plan to get the best results based on the pieces he has and the teams he's playing... And that is something that Strong and Gilbert are incredibly incapable of.

Wait... Foreman, Connor Williams, Ford, And many others actually developed.

Did a few regress this year? Yes... but I do remember reading that scouts and former players being quoted that the program was starting to look like a true Texas program from that standpoint.

I believe that more than anything execution (tackling), defense, and poor game management is what got Strong fired.

I don't have a link, but I read somewhere that Texas is hosting Chuck Filaga of Aledo this weekend. Mods, and confirmation of this? It would be nice to get him and Walker Little for the OL this cycle (they would be set on that side of the line).
