One of the QBs mentioned above who was offered today -- Seth Green -- is from Minnesota

That article could be read different ways but Higs say he is indeed moving to Texas and already likes the Horns (he may have already camped with us once).  It also looks like he is already following some other Allen kids on twitter

An offer to Baylor quarterback commit Zach Smith (Grandview) was extended by the Texas coaching staff late on Wednesday evening when Shawn Watson made the offer official while speaking with Smith directly. The offer to Smith was the second to a quarterback on the day as Bowman Sells (Lovejoy) was offered earlier on Wednesday.
 
Before committing to Baylor, Smith told Horns247 that Texas and TCU, along with Baylor, were his top three schools.  Smith also was invited and planned to attend the Charlie Strong’s Elite Quarterback Camp over the summer before making his commitment.
 
Smith has received an invitation to the junior day on Feb. 28, but as of Wednesday evening he does not plan to attend.  Smith is a four-star prospect and the No. 141-ranked prospect in the country according to 247Sports. Smith is also the No. 18-ranked prospect in Texas.

Still scratching my head on this offer.  I hear of excuses as to why they offer APB Kam Martin late then they offer this kid at LoveJoy?

Ive watched Bowman play football and the only time I was really impressed was when his parents held him back 2 years in school and I first saw him play in 5th grade football league he was 2 years older than all the other kids.  He looked like a God on the field.  Now hes "meh" at best.  I dont get this offer at all.  Seems like they could do alot better than this kid,

He's been offered by Ohio State and Clemson who have been fairly decent at evaluating QBs. 

The offer makes perfect sense to me. They made the offer after a slew of other QBs have already been offered. You've got to have options in case you miss on your top targets.

I generally look at offer lists more than stars (since its rare that I see any of these kids play other than on their hudl highlight reels).  Urban Meyer isn't infallible, but I'm generally going to trust his QB evaluation over that of the scouting services.  I have to believe that if he offered its with an evaluation higher than a 'low-3-star' that most of the services have for the kid.

Franks (6-5, 220) has been committed to LSU since June 1 and committed to the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia and others.

Franks is the No. 40-ranked prospect nationally and No. 1-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country. Franks is the No. 8-ranked prospect in Florida for the 2016 class."

Juan, i happen to look at the highlight films of Tray Williams and all i can say is..LAWD HAVE MERCY..the kid is a beast...IMO...i hope they go hard on trying to land him...

Franks is a very good baseball player. Kid was already throwing 92 last summer. Not sure where he's projected in the MLB draft, but I reckon it's fairly high.

my big thing is right now with all of these offers now coming in to some of these guys that have already committed..im wonder how much it will hurt us down the road
