makes me wonder what took them so long to offer him?
As far as i know, they wanted to do their own valuations on everyone
They got behind. The lack of a few coaches did not help. Just had a hard time completely catching up on everyone

i have to ask this stupid question..something just occurred to me with this junior day visits??? i maybe late to the party asking this so dont crucify me for this but as far as these junior campus visits are concern how many days does these recruits spend on campus??? And does this consider like an OV???

A bit under the radar before his Texas offer, Stephens nonetheless has an increasingly impressive national list, including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio State, SMU, Stanford, Tulsa, Washington, and Wisconsin.
As a junior, Stephens was productive, if not especially explosive -- he ran for 1,268 yards and 21 touchdowns on 196 carries for an average of 6.5 yards per attempt.
Two years ago, the testing numbers put up by Stephens weren't particularly impressive at the Dallas NFSC. His completed his 40-yard dash in 4.88 seconds, had a 4.75 shuttle time, and posted a 29.9-inch vertical leap. The typical caveat applies here, however -- he's most likely gotten stronger and faster since that time.
Operating out of the Wildcat and from the I formation, Stephens has the experience and patience to set up his blockers before trying to get downhill. He's a no-nonsense runner who won't waste time juking opponents in the backfield and also has several runs where he shows impressive balance to keep his feet after contact.
Not a big jump cutter or exceptionally explosive, Stephens does have a good slide cut that allows him to navigate traffic and find holes, which speaks to his vision, as well.
