2016 Recruiting - Week #15-23

Any indication on what they're waiting for?  Also, do you have any clue on who the recruits are :)

In a case or two, coaches told them to take their time. In another case or two, it's just waiting for the right time.

Was not told who they were except for the DT for 2017 and the DT who is committed to Houston right now.

I heard rumor of the UofH DT but I had not heard of the 2017 DT (i was hoping that one would).

Higs says that unnamed commitment I referred to above has "fallen off the face of the Earth"

But maintaining Jordan Elliot in the fold (so two different guys)

Some people "think" is was Kam Martin, but I dont really know

Santos appears to be redshirting.  Talked a little with some other media guys last night - particularly Justin Wells and he confirmed it.

Probably the best move if he isn't close to 100 percent healthy. I would rather have him good to go in '16 than only serviceable this year.

WTH about Santos? This was in last week's Burnt Ends

When we caught up this week with a member of the Santos family and were told that, “All is well. He's better than ever! Going full speed in drills – we gonna be fine.†That should be music to your ears regardless of whether you’re hoping to see a true freshman get playing time.

The family member went on to tell us that Santos has been practicing hard enough to now have full confidence – mentally he knows it’s going to hold up and be okay.

Horns247 claims Kam Martin and Grayland Arnold are on "flip watch"

Seems dubious but we will see

Facts are facts...It might sound Trumpish but .......Santos needs to finish up and get a degree and move on with his life. He ain't fast enough to play LB in the NFL and he isn't big enough to play down. We need spots available for 4 and 5 stars in '16 and '17.

IMO, the Santos thing is critical. If nothing else, he provided experience at a crucial position. Now, we're going to be green there. We better make it up with aggression/talent/aggression.

He is good enough to at least be a servicible backup LB and/or special teams player. I'm sure he knows positioning much better than current freshmen college backers, not to mention the '16-'17 highschool backers you refer to. Slower yes, but I like his aggression. He seems a prototypical special teams mentality. Experience can help teach the younger guys as well. That's all I got.
