The way recruiting goes these days, one can't get too excited about commits, but at least this commitment is WITH us !!!!!!  We can smile !!

Here's how I kinda look at verbal commitments. 

The closer the verbal is to NSD, the better the chance that it sticks (earth-shattering I know ). Anything inside 3 months and it's probably a 75% chance or better that it sticks. Anything in the 3-6 months range and it's probably in the 50/50 range or better. And if it's more than 6 month's out, it's probably 50/50 at best. 

 Have no idea how this stacks up to reality but this is just what it seems like to me as I've watched recruiting over the past 3-4 years.
