2017 Composite 5-star LB Baron Browning (6'4, 230) from Kennedale, TX (already committed to Baylor)

— Twitter API (@twitterapi) November 7, 2011

I think we can get Baron Browning to realize he needs to play for a defensive minded coach instead of Art Briles and his mediocre defense down in Waco under Phil Bennett

Speaking of LBs, Tom Luginbill was on ESPN talking about how Alabama will 17 ESPN 300 recruits on campus.  Good grief.

When discussing LBs that Bama favored, he said they were getting OVs from the three top LBs out there -- all of them 5-stats -- Ben Davis, Mique Juarez and Lyndell Wilson.

He never mentioned Dontavious Jackson.

Sheesh Bama, but good for us I guess.

I think our depth at running back hurt us in getting an RB this year. I like how Porter has handled his business with not wanting all the hype. Just wants to play football. I think he would fit nicely with Gilbert's offensive. He would be a take if he wants to come.

I think when Whaley compared our depth chart at RB to Piglet's depth chart, it made his decision simple.  He wants to play.

Plus, their academics are SEC easy.

What Bama is doing is unreal. Going to be hard to knock them off the top the way they keep reloading.

His style is a little like Strong's in that he brings in alot of guys late

They have 16 commits as of today, only a few more than us

And are having a huge weekend now (22 visitors!), like we did last weekend

Other schools like to load up early and try and hold on

We can get to Bama's level. All we have to do is compete on the big stage again. I'm talking about winning conference championships and getting in the play offs.

That's a lofty goal and will take a few years, but if Charlie can right the ship this season I have no doubt in my mind that he can create a monster here like we've never seen before.

Difference being the quality he's bringing in. No doubt Charlie can get us there if he can translate these Ws on the trail to Ws on the field.

Coach - totally agree with you. Show progress this year. Next years recruiting class has the potential to be his best. 3 top classes in a row should translate to playoff-level success. I think we could be closer to that now had Patterson given CS the proper tools/support/budget.

Beating ND would be a great start.

I haven't gone and done the research on this (may be way off) but it seems like Urban recruits late as well. Charlie having been with him, might be how he developed this style. Whatever as long as it works and translates into wins on the field. We all just got so use to the way Mack locked his up so early that this takes some getting use too.

Believe it or not, your Southall pick is in serious jeopardy.
If so that means we're missing on some of the higher targets. I am pretty sure the coaches have at least 4 others they like better.

I think we get

Elliott

Daniels

Taylor

Giles (If grades check out)

Southall -If we miss on one of the others or we decide to take 4

Williams-Cannot get a read here. Probably sticks with Stanford.

Yeah, i know everyone including myself are big on having the best class possible but right now we are so desperate for Dlinemen that ill take whoever right now. I want quality right now but at the way our recruiting has gone the last few seasons anyone is better then nothing, which we all thought it would be a few weeks ago.

I think we're only two years away
