A good recruiting class will give Texas fans hope. As Andy Dufresne said in the "Shawshank" movie: "Hope is a good thing...

maybe the best of things"
I figure three things had to happen for Charlie Strong to have a fourth year.

1. Hire the right OC and Gilbert looks like that guy.

2. Have a great recruiting class like last year. We shall see in a month from now.

3. Have a QB step up as good to great passer and a leader. We won't know that till September.

But things may not be so rosey-looking for us with DJax

Nahlin says not so fast my friend

DJax aint over til its its over

He even suggested that, from the FSU perspective, they think we still lead.

He says the thing to watch for is whether we go after LB LaFrance.  If you start to see that, then it means we think we've lost DJax

Who is LaFrance and what state does he reside in?

Can someone tell me by any chance what changed in the d-jax recruitment that made him sway his interest to FSU? I must have fell asleep and missed the update or two

Lol Godz shhh you don't want to tell that to everybody. Hehe. I missed my Hornsports fix

What do you think our chances are looking like for DJax?

To the extent Higs represents the staff view, it doesnt sound good

To the extent Nahlin represents the view of recruits, it sounds much better

Pick who you want to believe

If we can reel in Fowler, this would be more than just compensation

I dont really see them as same position but Higs thinks Fowler can line up anywhere, including the middle

Anyone remember Tren'Davian Dickson?

Former commit who switched to Baylor

He was listed at 6'0 or 6'1

Well, turns out, according to US Army Game measurements, he is 5' 11, 162

Interesting, do you think we'll flip Erick Fowler

Holland on Fowler --

Texas is very much in the mix for four-star LSU commit Erick Fowler. As we reported earlier today, Fowler will take an official visit to Texas the weekend of Jan. 15. That trip will be followed by an official visit to LSU the next weekend. Fowler’s family is very pro-Texas – a source close to Fowler told me the family “bleeds burnt orange†– but Fowler grew up rooting for the Tigers. Right now, Fowler’s parents are comfortable with him ending up at LSU, but the family is pushing him to say in Texas, per a source. This one is all Texas-LSU unless something significantly changes. After a few conversations, I’m feeling good about where Texas sits with Fowler with a month until signing day.

Hopefully Fowler sees the light at the end of the tunnel and decides to commit to the good guys
