2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Here is a 2015 OT who has decommitted

per Scout --

According to Barnegat coach Rob Davis, Madden is tentatively set to officially visit Rutgers the weekend of Jan. 30.  In addition, Davis said Texas, Ole Miss and Penn State already reached out to him to inquire about Madden.

“I already heard from a number of schools,†Davis said. “I am really going to start putting the word out (Sunday).â€

Madden is rated the No. 75 offensive tackle in the 2015 class, and is coming off his first healthy season in a while.  He played as a sophomore with a broken foot, then worked through his junior year while battling pain from it.

“He’s got a big ceiling,†Davis said.  â€œIf it is the right fit, he can do well. You can’t teach size.  Once he gets his footwork to go with his body … he’s got the body.  He’s just a big kid.  He’s going to play one side of the ball, with the same guys all time and guys he’s not 150 pounds bigger than.

“It takes bigger guys more time to develop sometimes.â€

Scott says he is going to try and work out a visit to Texas (he said this while on his OV to Purdue)

Found some 2014 film on DT Kevin Scott (just got Texas offer)

Scott just turned 17 at the beginning of his football season

I have a manly mancrush on this guy

He visits Austin next weekend.

Fields said he's down to Clemson and Texas (LSU is out)

He said he liked "all of" his Clemson official visit.  "Clemson freshman defensive backs Van Smith and Kaleb Chalmers, who played on the same 7-on-7 team as Fields, served as his player-hosts."

"I'll find out how Texas is this weekend when I go there," Fields said.

i wonder who is gonna host Mr. Fields next weekend?

But here is what Longhorn Scott says on Davis -- "Don't be surprised if fellow Floridian Davante Davis - a big physical DB - also reverses on his Texas and ends up on the plains of rural Alabama."

http://www.barkingcarnival.com/2015/1/18/7757541/2015-texas-football-recruiting-texas-momentum-halts-bleeding-starts

However, also worth noting that, according to Chip Brown, unlike Tim irvin, Davante Davis has been in constant communication with the Texas coaches leading up to this weekend

I think Irvin was committing to TRob more than Auburn.  If he had stayed at Florida, there's a great chance Irvin ended up there.

Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Would not be surprising to see Muschamp leave after one season for a HC position.  He almost took one at UH before going with Auburn.  And, with one good season as DC. more offers will roll in.  There are always openings somewhere.

And wherever he goes, he will take TRob with him.

So, it is not inconceivable that come 2016, Tim will be getting his first PT as a RS freshman with neither TRob nor Muschamp around anymore.

Hopefully our recruiters covered this possibility with him.  If not, shame on us.

Florida 4 still has a good sound to it!

If we do lose Davis, we still have these DB recruits visiting --

4-star CB Mark Fields (5'10,175) William Amos Hough (NC) - his current leader is Clemson and the CB is 80% Clemson.  Coach Vaughn had an in-home visit with Fields last Thursday, and Fields will be in Austin next weekend Jan. 23.  We offered in Oct.

3-star CB DeAndre Baker (6'0,175) of Miami Northwestern --  current Georgia commit.  His OV was originally set for Jan 31, but it appears we moved it up to Jan 23.  Higs says the key to look for is if his pops comes with him (to judge his seriousness).  We offered back in Aug.  And Uncle Luke said Baker was one of the top 3 CBs in Miami this year, so there's that too.

3-star CB Sheldrick Redwine (61,185), of Miami Killian - current Louisville commit.  He actually visited Auburn with Irvin.  Has OV to Texas Jan. 31.  We offered in Oct.  He is a good player, not afraid of contact, good hands, returns punts.

4-star CB Xavier Lewis (5'11,188) of East Saint John (Louisiana) -- current LSU commit, but will take an OV to Austin on Jan. 31.  Kind of similar situation as Brossette as a LA player committed to LSU (so getting one might help with the other).  He's a very good corner who has not gotten that much attention from UT fans.  We offered last Feb.  Coach Vaughn went to see him in Dec.

Also said his family is "in love" with Austin --   "After my LSU official next week I will iron things out."

I guess if we're going after other teams recruits, it's only fair game for them to go after ours.

I just hope come Feb 4th, we have a good solid class.

It doesn't surprise me that his family would love Austin. Austin is a terrific city. There is a great deal to recommend it.

My kids were really happy in school at The University, and they always were doing something they enjoyed. At the same time, they maintained great grades in tough majors.

I was happy because I knew that they were getting a great education and that Austin was one of the safest cities. It's really quite amazing.

Interesting that Newsome eliminated Tennessse. I thought Tennnessee was the main competition.
