2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Kevin Hogan - Stanford

While he hasn't yet announced formally for transfer, the Stanford graduate clashed withDavid Shaw over his conservative offense and had the unenviable task of replacingAndrew Luck - arguably the most gifted QB walking the planet.  The rumor mill is running hard and fast that he wants out and would like a show case for his wares. While imperfect - and possessing a slow release that Shaun Watson could help him with - Hogan is a proven competitor with good athletic ability and a live arm.  He has 48 touchdowns to 21 career interceptions, won a Rose Bowl, started 30+ games and has a career QB rating around 145.  Yet people treat him as if he's chopped liver.  He's not.  He's also a sneaky running threat who isn't afraid of contact.  He's an upgrade and wouldn't be particularly terrified taking a snap from under center in South Bend next year.  He's roughly comparable to a sophomore David Ash, but with veteran experience.  That's a significant upgrade from Swoopes.  He could help us.  Now forward him this post immediately and get the illegal contacts started.
The more I read about Hogan, I like what he brings to a team.

Gameday Experience

Leadership

Intelligence

Plus he wants to improve his draft status.

So why does Hogan transfer when he's the starter at Stanford?

Why does Sports Illustrated make such a big deal (and assumption) that Hogan had played his last game at Stanford?

Maybe someone at Si knows something we don't?

It's publicly know that Hogan doesn't get along with the head coach.

If Heard just executes the zone option which they seemed to call a lot, the offense is going to look a lot better. That by itself will open up the TE passes and so on. And Heard won state with that type of offense.

It won't surprise me if we only take 2 WRs in this class. A lot of chatter that we've already backed off Newsome. We took a crap ton of WRs last year and already have 2 WRs committed in the '16 class. Texas has more immediate needs IMO too. Texas will take another DB or RB over another WR. It will suck losing Burt because of his talent, but I'm not that upset about losing a WR.
We need tall and big body WRs, not 5'9" guys.  You can't coach height.

Thats why I like Gilbert....big guy.

If they indeed have backed off Newsome (and that's been my thought for the past few days), that means they've probably got something lined up with Strickland. I doubt Lodge makes his visit here.

I think there's at least one more WR in this class to come.

I would not be surprised to see both Brossette and Warren in this class.

Don't ask me how it's made to work (numbers). I gave up.

Here is some film of Locksley - I cant recall if posted before

He has skills and athleticism.  Plus he is a coach's son

I say he's a take if at all possible

Do they not have football stadiums in Maryland? Those highlights look like they were playing on a jr high field at a 1A school in Texas. Kid does have plenty athletic ability. I'll take him.

If you noticed the football field became part of the baseball field.  It looked like they moved the portable fences around.

Evidently, space is a commodity in Maryland.

Thanks for that.  Is this the info in question?

Another poster on another site claiming to be in the know says one of our 3 CB targets is a "silent commit."

This might be a reference to Fields or might not be, it isnt specified.

Juan, I went back to look for the information where someone referred to Lotus, and I couldn't find it.  It's been pretty busy here.  Started back to school today-shock, I think.  I don't know if the information was edited or not.  Possible.  The initial reference disclosed quite a bit more than I did, but yes, Lotus is dependable.

I only scanned the information quickly from my phone, caught the name Lotus, and knew who they were referring to.  Yes, on the silent commit.

I'm curious how many recruits are in danger of not qualifying for Texas? I talked with a coach in Belleville, Illinois area who is close to Beckner Jr. out of East St. Louis and he said Beckner is probably going to have to go the JUCO route due to grades and ACT score (he supposedly scored very, very, very low on the ACT).  Anyone in danger of not qualifying for the Horns?
Sorry if already answered but there was some talk about Clarington being able to qualify, but reports are that he will. I believe Gilbert Johnson still has to take the ACT and get a high enough score to qualify. Also there are some rumors that Ronnie Major may not qualify. Those are the only names I have heard so far.
