2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

          at thweat malik poster...you need to stop Juan lol well in all fairness I thought we  had a long shot with Fields and it seems that we are closer than we think now as far as the QB no comment

Maybe he walks on?

Correction, he goes 5'8, not 5'11 according to Rivals and 24/7. He is unranked by rivals but has offer from Tennesse and a slew of others.
Possibly, But he might be a gray shirt or a blue shirt. I'm guessing CS is going to use every option at his disposal to build this team.

Looks like Tim Brewster is the primary FSU recruiter for Kris Boyd and Holton Hill.
Coincidence that he might be coming here?  Probably can't hurt
Might help with Locksley as well

Simply rumors at this point.
Is it even rumors, or just wishful thinking on the part of fans?  I get the Brewster love - but why would he leave Florida State for Texas?  Other than a three year stint at the University I'm not aware of any Texas connection for Brewster.

Depends on what insiders you trust, I suppose. I don't think Brewster will be on a Texas sideline next year. Brewster came with Mack when he left North Carolina. Was a great recruiter for us, which is why you see the excitement you do. I think he's probably pretty satisfied with where he is right now. I don't know that he takes a lateral move at this point in his career. I'm sure he's pretty interested in changing the perception of his coaching ability after the mess that was his Minnesota stint.

Repost from another thread

This one has become a bit of a catch-all

Chip thinks we have hired a new coach

Announcement some time this week

Also that Vaughn will no longer be in charge STs

-- one of the two new hires will fill that role.

FWIW - Bobby Burton has been reporting that while Vaughn had the title - ST's were actually a shared responsibility among coaches and that no one coach could really be held responsible (other than Strong).

I expect that one of these new hires is going to actually be a designated ST coach.

Here is a little bit of comment on Anthony Wheeler by Rivals.com regional recruiting analyst Jason Howell

"Wheeler can play both inside and outside. He's a big guy who does a good job of sifting through traffic. He has a big frame, he's very athletic.

You might think looking at him, he might be kind of stiff, but he's actually very good in space, makes quick reads and is able to get to ball carrier. He's a very explosive guy who really goes through the ball carrier when he makes contact.

He's a big guy who can also come off the edge if you want in certain sets. He's also pretty good at dropping into coverage and dropping into space. He'll bring a lot of versatility to the Texas defense."

But can he fill the gap?

I'm curious how many recruits are in danger of not qualifying for Texas? I talked with a coach in Belleville, Illinois area who is close to Beckner Jr. out of East St. Louis and he said Beckner is probably going to have to go the JUCO route due to grades and ACT score (he supposedly scored very, very, very low on the ACT).  Anyone in danger of not qualifying for the Horns?

Another poster on another site claiming to be in the know says one of our 3 CB targets is a "silent commit."

This might be a reference to Fields or might not be, it isnt specified.

Fields hasn't visited so I doubt he would commit without ever stepping foot on campus. Boyd and Hill have. If we do infact have a silent CB commit, my guess would be One of these 2.

Fields is awesome & I would love to be able to take 3 more CBs in 2015. We need them more then 4 WRs in this class.
