2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I cant understand why McLane Carter hasnt been looked at even though he may not be fast but he is a type pro active style qb that has good hands and has good vision with his passing routes to receivers and a good arm

Rumor is Harbaugh's going after Kevin Hogan at Stanford as a graduate transfer. Charlie's on a hot streak, so maybe he can persuade Kevin to the 40 Acres?  I mean, he's a better option than what we have, right?

there is a second page to this, but i cant post it

do an internal email if you wanna see it

OK, so, OB is saying offensive changes are indeed coming.

2 QB's are on the way (1 young 1 experienced)

IF TRUE, those numbers and slots I posted above^^^ will be getting adjusted again

I was holding off on Irvin and Clarington, thinking it would be safe to do after they announced

OOPs

Does a graduate count against the numbers?  I believe that he would go against the 85, but not the 25

Anyone know better?

I have seen him and he is a quality QB.  I just did not come away with that "wow" factor.  He looked under sized to me.

Seems like all the services have made the adjustments now

Our Florida connections --

Charlie Strong -- former defensive coordinator at Florida and successfully recruited the state while at Louisville
Vance Bedford – Texas’ defensive coordinator coached at Florida and has recruited Miami for years
Chris Vaughn – The Longhorns assistant was born and raised in Tallahassee
Mike Giglio – Texas’ player personnel director is a Florida grad
Brian Jean-Mary – Texas’ linebackers coach is from south Florida
Joe Wickline – Texas’ offensive line coach played and coached at Florida

which begat --
S, Tim Irvin, Miami Westminster Christian - son of former Miami standout of same name; nephew of Michael Irvin
CB, Davante Davis, Miami Washington - long, tall cornerback who chose Texas over FSU among dozens of others
LB, Cecil Cherry, Lakeland Victory Christian - MVP of Florida state championship game; good friends with Floridian Chris Nelson, a freshman DT at Texas
TE, Devonaire Clarington, Miami Washington - a two-way standout; picked Texas over LSU, Miami and others

And these Floridians aren't players to merely fill out a roster, each has the long-term potential to start. Four members of the group are considered among the top 50 players in Florida this year. By comparison, Texas has pledges from seven players in the top 50 of Texas. The Longhorns’ recruiting class suddenly looks a lot better with 11 top 50 players from Texas and Florida combined. And the fifth Florida player, wide receiver Gilbert Johnson, is expected to verbally commit to Texas soon. He originally signed with Georgia, hardly a lightweight in recruiting, a year ago but had to spend time at a prep school this season after failing to qualify academically. Never before have I witnessed what I'm seeing this year in Austin. Texas has created the beginning of a true pipeline. Not a small one, but one of significance in one of the most talent rich areas in the country.

ps - left off was Pat Moorer who is from Florida, was a starting LB at UF, and was a coach at UF for 2 years.

You can't say enough about how important this is for the future of the program. Being able to seamlessly recruit both Florida and Texas at will is relatively unheard of. Strong and Co. still have some work to do over the next couple of years to not only maintain but build upon the Florida Pipeline, but things are looking very good. If Texas, each season, can secure some of the best Texas and Florida recruits, you're looking at a powerhouse each year.

I'm looking forward to Johnson committing to finalize the Florida Five. It's a matter of when, rather than if at this point.

I think he will play on the next level but just not at a school like Texas. I thought he might be someone Chad Morris takes a chance on.

He knows the game and has a good blood line.

Who is the mystery recruit? Has to be a graduate transfer QB. EM said immediate impact right away if he came our way. Game changer.

Has to be Braxton Miller right? Need to research 5th year senior QBs tonight.

Well I really have very little doubt that our offensive woes won't get fixed. The way Coach strong is connecting with these recruits and closing the deal I believe we will get the right guys. In addition if these reports are true that Charlie knows some MAJOR changes need to take place, then things will improve. He may not be an offensive guy but he knows what a good offense looks like coaching against high compition.

At this point there are only three things I truly care about and that's

1. Getting some Qbs on campus asap

2. Upgrade the Oline, even if it means we force people out or ditch some of our earlier OL commits(not popular I know)

3. Get the right people employed on the offensive staff.

ICWT- in Charlie we trust
