2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

That's one guy they need to money whip, give a promotion or whatever they need to do to keep him around.
FWIW - if Rumph does leave that would open up a spot for Strong's old D-line coach Clint Hurtt. Hurtt was working for the Bears in the NFL while his show cause with the NCAA expired. He should eligible to return without issue - and was known as a very good recruiter (when he wasn't breaking NCAA rules).

Just what we need - a known NCAA cheater on staff to draw negative attention to ourselves.

Please stay, Coach Rumph!

Yup, Davis just got on the train... so that totals 4 commits from that most wanted list?

As a reminder, if you have twitter, you can 'favorite' these kids' tweets directly from here

Just tap the star (lower right) - might require a 2nd confirming click

A simple, small way to show them some support

And with the size of our fanbase, it could add up quickly once folks catch on

He’s known as “the Silencer,†in the Sunshine State.

The Texas Longhorns landed one of the top cornerbacks in Florida today when senior Davante Davis committed to the Longhorns. He’s No. 23 for 2015.

Davis is the first CB in the current group headed UT. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder is a consensus 4-star recruit who chose Texas over Florida State.

Davis is part of the “Florida Fiveâ€, a group of prospects from south Florida that are all likely headed to Austin for their collegiate careers. Texas LB commit Cecil Cherry, Tim Irvin, Devonaire Clarington, and Gilbert Johnson make up the other four.

Irvin and Clarington are set to announce here at the Army All-American game on Saturday, January 3rd.

Excerpt from our Recruiting Notebook:

Davante DavisCB – (Booker T. Washington HS, Miami FL) (2015)

How he fits at Texas: The great Floridian hope for covering over UT’s struggle to recruit any of the numerous top in-state prospects. Davis has tremendous length and is just shy of 6-foot-3, while also possessing rare quickness for that size that allows him to change directions and deliver fearsome strikes in the open field. It’s hard to tell if he has the acceleration to hang with real burners as a lockdown corner but it’s hard to get behind him due to his length and quickness. – Ian Boyd

Coach says: Are we sure this kid doesn’t end up at safety? His body type seems like one who will end up at safety rather than corner. If he does stick at corner, he will be a nightmare for receivers with his size and length. Corners with this kind of size, that can cover are at a premium, just look at some of the corners in the NFL now. I like that the kid isn’t afraid to come down and get a little physical, I can’t stand guys who want to be pretty and not hit anyone.

How this affects Texas: It’ll come down to Texas or Florida State. Just great. Always good when it’s between you (the rebuilding out-of-state program) and his in-state favorites, who just so happen to own a 29-game winning streak and are reigning national champions. But Strong has done a tremendous job recruiting Miami kids and Davis is no different. The only way I think Davis and Texas doesn’t happen is if FSU strikes out on a handful of its DB targets and they snare him late. – Justin Wells

Here are some 247 notes from the Semper Fidelis Game in California --

Horn commit S Jamile Johnson mentioned as the best S on the West team. He had some troubles at the line of scrimmage in man coverage. But excelled when allowed to play the deep back zone.

Horn commit DE Charles Omenihu is "all frame" right now. He had troubles with his initial punch and getting off blocks. He is quick and he flashes his potential.

CB Holton Hill has been drawing praise. He has been called the ideal CB and "pure gold to a defensive coordinator".

WR Carlos Strickland is a mismatch. He is big and strong, but he is incredibly raw as a route runner. Tremendous body control.

DB Carlton Davis (current tOSU commit) is still considering Miami, Piglet and Texas per the Ohio State 247 reporter
Just so we know, which one of you is the plagiarist?

8. Drew Richmond | 4-star OT | Memphis (Tenn.) University | Ole Miss
What a week for Richmond. He was consistently considered the top offensive lineman on his team showing better than expected in pass blocking drills and 11-on-11 play. He went against some of the top defensive ends in America and while many were losing battles, he was winning most of them.

Yes, i openly admit I borrow/steal almost everything I post here

Someone there has taken stuff I have posted here and posted it there, word for word as well

What are you going to do about it?
I'm going to discount anything you post and mock you as a thief if you don't give attribution. People put a lot of work into the stuff they develop and deserve credit. I will also touch base with Aaron and ask to shut down your account if you don't quit stealing from others and not offering attribution. How's that for a response to a really crappy comment?
