2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Has Chavis officially taken the aggie DC job? Had heard the rumors but have not seen any official announcement.

Carlos Strickland will officially visit Texas this month. He will also visit UCLA. Right now, UCLA leads due to a good QB situation there.

Cal is also pursuing him hard, but UCLA is recruiting him the hardest.

buice - affirmative. no aggy or fsu in that top three

Hill was asked about the Chavis move, but he responded in terms of how it affected his view of LSU, not aggy. LSU assured him they'd run the same scheme.
Does Hill have a timeline to announce?

I can't see it happening before his official visit to Texas. It could happen during that visit, though. I'm sure they will be in his ear about numbers and time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, beginning today and ending Saturday – this should be a very exciting time for the Longhorn Nation. I can see the Horns landing as many as five commits during that course of time, perhaps as few as three. I would lean more to the former than the latter though.

This should be fun.

When it's said and done Saturday night, we will have seven spots open for 14 players that are still on the board. Each of those 14 will be visiting Texas in an official capacity.

Here are some 247 notes from the Semper Fidelis Game in California --

Horn commit S Jamile Johnson mentioned as the best S on the West team. He had some troubles at the line of scrimmage in man coverage. But excelled when allowed to play the deep back zone.

Horn commit DE Charles Omenihu is "all frame" right now. He had troubles with his initial punch and getting off blocks. He is quick and he flashes his potential.

CB Holton Hill has been drawing praise. He has been called the ideal CB and "pure gold to a defensive coordinator".

WR Carlos Strickland is a mismatch. He is big and strong, but he is incredibly raw as a route runner. Tremendous body control.

DB Carlton Davis (current tOSU commit) is still considering Miami, Piglet and Texas per the Ohio State 247 reporter

Here is some Breckyn Hager 2014 film, if anyone is interested

He is listed as an MLB and it appears he did play LB as a junior, but Westlake people say he spent most of his senior year at end, often with a hand in dirt, using his quickness to get around the OT into the backfield.  And this highlight film does show him blowing up plays most of the time

One was from the 247 FSU recruiting insider. I like the way its trending. 4/5 of the Florida Five could be committed by Saturday.

Bobby Burton is reporting that there are rumors rhat Texas is about to lose a defensive coach. Florida fan sites are reporting that Rumph is a candidate for their DLine coach.

Losing Rumph would be a big loss for recruiting and would surely take us out of Mack sweepstakes.

That's one guy they need to money whip, give a promotion or whatever they need to do to keep him around.

Good to hear our coaches are in demand. Better than having "the suck" nobody else wants. LOL

Charlie needs to give part of his salary to keep him if he wants to.

If we lose Rumph, who should we go after?

I like Mizzou's Craig Kuligowski and Stanford's Randy Hart.  Both have produced numerous NFL defensive linemen.
