2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Chris ain't seen nothing, yet.  Wait until he plays here.  That's when they practically give you the keys to the city, if you follow Coach's core values!      :)

There are at least three very firm commitments that have not gone public. There are family issues, "coaching" issues and maybe one grade issue that will prevent these HUGE commitments from going public just yet.

The coaching issue really threw me. It's sad that a HS coach would try and affect a family and this important if a decision, but they do. And in this case it is apparently all about misinformation.

Negative recruiting is alive and well. A HS coach protecting a previous relationship he had with a college coach despite one of his players wishes, IS alive and well.

While this is a shame, I trust we have the men of character on our staff to rise above the muck and get through this mess with their heads held high and the kids that want to play for them by their side.

As I was reading your post, and saw 'coaching issues', I was a little confused.  None of the current Texas staff appears to be going anywhere so I couldn't figure out what sort of coaching issue a recruit could be waiting on.  Didn't occur to me until I read further down that it would be a high school coach.  What a position to place a student in.

That is very sad, but not unbelievable.

I like Ronald Jones, but as a compliment to a 3 down back like Warren or Jamabo.  I have seen Jones quite a bit in his career and could be dangerous as a 3rd down back as he is quite explosive but lacks RB instincts and vision at this point in his career.  Not real sure his frame could hold 200+ pounds, but could see him being an asset on special teams in the return game.  Missed alot of time his senior season due to a knee injury.

Always interesting when a kid decommits b/c you know if he does that, there is certainly a leader in the clubhouse or a silent commit already made.

In 2005, Springdale (Ark.) QB Mitch Mustain and OL Bartley Webb both attended Texas camp in June and wanted to commit to the Horns. Mack told them to wait and talk to their parents first. When they returned to Arkansas, their coach at the time (Gus Malzahn) talked them out of the committment. Later Mustain committed to Arkansas, then pulled his committment. Six months later Malzahn was hired as the OC at Arkansas, and Mustain re-committed to Arkansas. Webb committed to Notre Dame. Within a year, both Mustain and Malzahn were gone from Arkansas, and Webb never recovered from a shoulder injury. How might things have gone for both players if their HS coach had not interferred and they had gone to Texas like they wanted to? HS coaches should respect their players' decisions, period.

here is Eberts on Brossette

Brossette is a consensus four-star prospect rated as the No. 15 running back nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings and has been committed to the Tigers since late August.

Other than an official visit to Notre Dame in the middle of October, he hasn't take any other visits this fall and there are not currently any other plans to do so, which would seem to make it a three-team race for his services.

And the fact that he's already taken a visit to Austin would seem to bode well for the Longhorns -- his late-January trip won't be an introduction to the program, but merely a chance to spend more time with the coaches and see anything that he might have missed the first time.

Two predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball were made for Texas back in July after he visited.

After last week's decommitment from South Oak Cliff running back Jordan Stevenson, Texas may have run for two more running backs in the 2015 class. Rockwall's Chris Warren was in Austin on his official visit over the weekend.
