2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Just watched 'The Season" on LHN about the 1963 National Championship Team.  It was great.  With Tommy Nobis, Duke Carlisle, Tommy Wade, Coach Royal, David MacWilliams.  I may have mispelled some names.  If I did, please excuse me.  I wish Scott Appleton were still alive and could have participated.  He was something else, as well.

I wasn't old enough to remember anything about the season, just the names.  The Aggies watered the field before the T Day game to hopefully give themselves an advantage by hurting our ground game.  Nobis said he had never seen Royal so angry.  Royal pulled Duke Carlisle in the last series and put in Tommy Ward, a passer.  I didn't know that.  Ward took us downfield.  When we got to the two yard line, Duke scored.  Amazing.

Then we beat Navy in the Cotton Bowl, Number 1 v Number 2.  What a year!

That 1963 aggie game was the first UT game I've ever watched. Thought we had that game lost a couple of times.  It was also a very strange game to watch since Kennedy had been assassinated a week earlier and the whole nation was still in shock.

He leaves people behind

update -- IT suggests that we are offering Auston Banks "at least" a grayshirt opportunity and not simply preferred walk-on status.

And. FWIW, Watson now follows him on Twitter
He is like a Darren Sproles.  Sproles is 5'6" and ran a 4.47 at his combine.

This kid is strong for his size too.

I've watched a replay of that game. Nobody wanted to play. Even at the Dallas-Cleveland game, no one wanted to be there or wanted to play. It was a dark time for our nation.

There is a rumor among FSU board "insiders" that Jimbo Fisher may pull the offer to Locksley is he visits Texas

(does this sound like a Mack Brown move?)

More --  besides the fact that Locksley's dad coached with Charlie Strong at Florida, Kai is supposedly close friends with Strong's oldest daughter.

So, plenty of opportunity for under the radar communications.

More possibly Locksley pertinent info here

I think Jameis has to go back. He needs a season to repair his reputation both on and off the field. I think Locksley sits his freshman year here or at FSU. It ultimately comes down to whether or not he wants to be a part of the 40 acres and what CS is building.

Agree, good post.

I think Newsome is indeed going elsewhere. I may be wrong but at the end of the day I want the guys coming in to be 'all-in' about our university and what CS is doing and going to do here over the next few years

Warren's mom denied to 247 that he is a "silent commit" to UT.

She also indicated his interest in Washington is legit.

like johnny clipboard, jameis is what he is. i doubt he gives a crap about his rep. some team will draft him very high because he has the measurables and they think they'll be able to 'fix him'. no way he plays football at FSU again imo.

Chris Alderson argues we have a shot at Braxton Miller
http://network.yardbarker.com/college_football/article_external/could_former_ohio_state_qb_braxton_miller_be_headed_to_texas/18023936?linksrc=story_sport_college%20football_module_related_18032639

"........ Miller sees the writing on the wall now that Cardale Jones has led Ohio State to the 2014 national title game and likely has secured the starting quarterback position for the Buckeyes in 2015. Miller not only has to compete with Jones, but also J.T. Barrett who also was a Heisman Trophy finalist this season before getting injured in Ohio State’s last game of the regular season against Michigan.

So, if the rumors are true and Texas is truly about to land a big name transfer at the quarterback position, do not be surprised if it turns out being Braxton Miller. I have heard these rumors in the previous months that Miller could be headed to Texas, but now the steam really seems to be picking up for this to take place.

It still is far from certain, but is a possibility we have to keep an eye on. Miller to Texas would be a homerun for both Miller and Texas. I think the match of Miller and Head Coach Charlie Strong of Texas would be a great tandem. The Longhorn Nation has their eyes of Texas on this news and will be hoping that it is Miller time in Austin, Texas very soon."

Uh...... this is about Davante Davis

— Twitter API (@twitterapi) November 7, 2011

This was confirmed by IT.  He visits Gator Jan 23 and his UF recruiter is new  LB coach Randy Shannon.

Charlie Strong still gets to do his in-home with Davis.

Perhaps this partially explains all the DBs we have taking OVs with us still?

Gotta keep working it to the end/

Still, losing one of the F5 would suck

We better keep Auburn away from Irvin
