2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

2016 QB

Quarterback Logan Bonner checks in at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds from Rowlett (TX) and is teammates with current Longhorn verbal commitment Charles Omenihu. Bonner had a great sophomore campaign to the tune of 2,400 passing yards with 22 touchdowns and another 440 rushing with 8 more touchdowns on the ground.

â€I love Texas,†Logan Bonner said. “Since I was a little kid and I believe coach [Charlie] Strong is a very good coach and he did great at Louisville. I feel like he can do even better with the Texas program and with very good coaches like Shawn Watson. When I met coach Watson right off the bat I liked him.â€

The last time Bonner visited Texas was during Thanksgiving but he plans to return in June for the quarterback camp.

Here is an article from December, don't know what happen to Rutgers.

Rutgers recruiting: Could Daniel Fitzwater, Mississippi JUCO star, be Rutgers' next QB?

Daniel Fitzwater, the 6-6, 215-pound Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Wesson, Miss.) quarterback, says he is closing in on a decision after taking an official visit to Rutgers last weekend. Rutgers' top contending school for Fitzwater – TCU – has yet to extend him an offer, placing Rutgers in prime position as his decision could come as early as next week.

"I'm looking to decide pretty soon," said Fitzwater. "It'll probably be next week."

Due to the timing of Fitzwater's announcement, the Scarlet Knights would appear to be in the driver's seat for attaining his services.

"I can definitely see myself up there," he said. "I respect all the coaches up there and I can definitely see myself playing under them.

"Going in, I didn't know much about Rutgers," said Fitzwater, who was hosted by starting fullback Michael Burton on his visit. "I'm from the south. I went up, learned about the academic program, the football program and met some very neat people. So, it was a great experience."

For Fitzwater who has lived in Houston, Shreveport and now Wesson Mississippi, his trek to the east coast proved to be a unique experience, to say the least.

"It was different coming from the south," he continued. "You don't see those big buildings and stuff like that. But I enjoyed it."

Former Rutgers quarterbacks coach Rob Spence first began the courtship of Fitzwater three weeks ago, before being displaced, leading to the Mississippi standout receiving an offer from Kyle Flood while on his official visit.

"Coach Flood just kind of told me who he was and told me about the school," Fitzwater said. "I really respect coach Flood and I can see myself playing for someone like him."

Rutgers is the only school Fitzwater has taken an official visit to since his JUCO stint, although he has visited TCU for a game.

"I only went to TCU for a game," said Fitzwater. "I liked the coaches and I like how it's in Dallas, Texas. That's a little closer to home.

"But right now, I'm really excited about Rutgers."

Fitzwater was a qualifier out of high school, making him eligible for a mid-year transfer to a four year institution in January – something he intends to do.

"I'll enroll in January," said Fitzwater. "I've been in junior college for one semester. I qualified coming out of high school. I had a few offers, but felt I could do better. So I went to JUCO and I can leave whenever."

Fitzwater was under-recruited out of high school due to transferring to a new school – Calvary Academy (Shreveport, La.) – as a senior. Memphis, ULM, Rice and North Texas are the schools to have offered Fitzwater prior to the compeletion of his high school career, but he is no longer considering those schools. Western Kentucky extended a tender but recently landed a commitment from Nassau Community College's (Garden City, N.Y.) Troy Jones Jr., a player Rutgers also recruited. So that leaves Rutgers and TCU, with Rutgers holding the perceived edge.

"I love the whole school," he said. "I love the coaches and we'll see what happens."

Fitzwater will have four years to play three at the institution he selects. In 2013, he completed over 60 percent of his passes for 2,986 yards and 20 TDs to only five interceptions.

I doubt Fitzwater ever even went to a game at TCU. Kid's trolling us all. TCU in Dallas?

How do you mistake Ft Worth for Dallas. So it begs the question, did he ever live in Texas?

So don't be surprised when he says he actually has an offer from SMU.

Collin Johnson ended up being the SPARQ MVP of that event on the West Coast in the post above^

",,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Named the SPARQ MVP for his efforts, Johnson produced an overall score of 117.42 at an event that featured six invites to The Opening this summer -- there was hardly a dearth of strong athletes at the event. To get that number, Johnson ran a 4.57 40, posted an elite 4.00 shuttle time, threw the medicine ball 36 feet, and registered a 35.8-inch vertical leap.

Student Sports hasn't yet updated the overall SPARQ numbers from all the events this spring, but his testing score would rank in the top-30 nationally so far with most of the events now completed and not far behind elite athletes like five-star cornerback Kendall Sheffield and physical freak Dylan Moses, the 2017 prospect committed to LSU. For further perspective, consider that Johnson's SPARQ score was higher than fellow running back commit Jordan Stevenson managed at the Dallas NFTC.

If JUCO QB Daniel Fitzwater, mentioned above, were to enroll this summer, he would have 4 years to play 3

And he turned down a scholarship to Rice out of high school because he thought he could do better? A free ride to a Rice education? Don't get it.

Sounds like Kyler Murray might actually be heading to Oregon. What a loss that would be for the Aggies. If they don't pick up Kyler you can say goodbye to Mack and most likely Sheffield and Malik.

i think oregon is going to make us sweat it out, but i still think that kyler will be an aggie...although my confidence level is as high as it was a month ago.

oregon has now had two back up QBs transfer, so their depth chart is very inviting right now. A&M will have a true freshman and a true sophomore battling it out...and if kyle allen wins the starting gig, it's plausible that kyler might not get to start as QB for at least 3 years.

Kyler also wants to play college baseball. Oregon baseball>A&M baseball.
