welcome to the 40 acres breckyn hager!

I believe HornsDigest broke this one first.  The 6-3, 210 lb OLB was committed to Baylor - brother Bryce plays for Baylor.

Upcoming profile on Hager.  I'm home sick and was asleep when I woke up and saw the news.

Breckyn Hager is the son of Britt Hager.  As all true Longhorn fans know, Britt played for the Horns from 1985 - 1988, then played

9 seasons in the NFL. I remember reading in some college football magazine of the time that Britt was credited with 167 tackles

his junior year.  I remember in the UT/A&M 1988 game (his senior year) Britt was hitting Aggies so hard he actually knocked himself

out 2 or 3 times, had to be helped off the field.  And HE KEPT GOING BACK INTO THE GAME!  Britt wore the prestigious #60

(Tommy Nobis' #) at LB and MORE than proved himself worthy of that distinction. I'm really pleased that his son Breckyn will be

coming to UT....great bloodlines!!

Bryce Hager wasn't even ranked on 247 coming out of high school. Tells you that recruiting rankings don't always get it right.

Got to like these quotes.

 William Wilkerson @WVWilkerson

"I straight up told him 'I bleed burnt orange baby!'" - Breckyn Hager on what he told Charlie Strong today when he announced his commitment.

Breckyn Hager told me he went to the top of Westlake Stadium today when he called Charlie Strong to commit so he could see #DKR. #Hookem #UT

Max Olson â€@max_olson
Breckyn Hager on why he flipped to Texas: "I've honestly wanted to break my dad's record since I was kid." Dad had 499 tackles at UT.
