2013 Russell Athletic Bowl on ESPNU

The next Monday after the hiring of Strong became official...a guy I work with came up to me that Monday morning...he was really excited,

never seen him so excited.  He said "Did you watch Louisville in their Bowl game...their defense was AWESOME...they totally dominated

Miami...incredible defense!  You should be thrilled Charlie Strong is coming to Texas...that man can coach defense!"  I swear, my friend

was more excited than me about the hiring of Strong.  Worth noting, my excited friend is not necessarily a Longhorn fan. He grew up in

West Texas, leans more toward Texas Tech (though he didn't go there).  So his was a totally objective opinion...he just likes college

football.  He sure thought we were lucky to be getting Charlie Strong, said we could look forward to awesome defense being played!

I missed the Louisviile Bowl game previously, watching it now.  Thanks for the heads up as to it being televised tonight.

Dang!  Just watching now.  Their DLine blowing up Miami's Oline!

Reed and Brown, licking their chops!

2013 Russell Athletic Bowl -  Louisville vs. the U on right now.  Interesting watching the Louisville D in action
Looked at the Louisville rushing defense stats a few days ago and was surprised to see that Louisville gave up, on average, only 80 rushing yards per game in 2013.   That's fairly impressive.

Texas D gave up 183/game last season on the ground (average).

Those are very interesting statistics regarding rushing defense for Louisville and UT during last season.  Thanks for

posting that, AC.

Last time Texas exceeded those #'s was 2009. Rushing defense yards per game was in the 70's (Muschamp).
