I remember registration in the "Drum". No computers. As I remember it, you had to find your class and sign up. It seems like I had to go on different levels to get all of my classes. If the class was full, you had to try again the next semester. Confusing and inefficient.
It was nuts to a freshman from a small town.

Saw this on the Austin news last night, not a good look for Lake Travis.

Peanut Issue at LT
Documents allege one of the teammates, identified as Student G, boasted about what he referred to as "his attempted murder," and being a "killer" on and off the field.

Could student G but Gus Cordova? Either way, glad he is headed out west. Sounds like this was not an isolated incident or poor decision making but continual bullying around a life threatening allergy.

Yea, I'm not sure if that's him or not however reports state he was involved in some sort of way. I could be wrong but I'm thinking the LT HC had the aggy discipline plan, made his suspects (i.e. starters) sit out a half against Akins or Del Valle, if at all.

Agree. I also once had a life-threatening allergic reaction when I was a kid.

I had gone fishing with my cousins and we had to pass through this huge field of chest-high grasses to get to the pond. That night, I had chigger bites all over my body from that jaunt through the high pasture. So my mom had bought some "Lanacane" which was popular back then. This caused me to break out more and my body began to swell. My mom panicked and took me to the ER. Back then, you could call your doctor at home and so my mother did and the doc met us there. They gave me 100 cc of Benadryl which knocked me right out. Doc said if we had arrived 20-30 minutes later, I might not have made it. My air passages were swelling shut.

As it turns out, I am highly allergic to the active ingredient in Lanacane, benzocaine. I am also allergic to novocaine, xylocaine (sp?), and other products from that family of "Caines".

Glad you made it bud!

IT just reported Burrell is no longer with the team. Apparently, Burrell was the driver in the car that rear-ended T'Vondre Sweat's Bronco where Sweat got a dwi. I don't know anything more than that.
