Newman Smith (my alma mater) had a kid back in the early 80's that kicked 60 yard FG's. Hell of a weapon in HS. He ended up with a Mizzou scholarship.
That was when they allowed tees for field goals. It was much easier.

Hard to believe that at one time we had Erxleben (UT), Little (Ark) and Franklin (aggy) kicking in the same conference.

I remember aggy opening their season at Michigan back in the 70s. In the first quarter, Franklin nailed a 53 yard field goal. At the half, coach Shembeckler said aggy was a threat to score 3 points from almost anywhere on the field. lol

Michigan went on to score 48 unanswered points or some such in the second half and embarrassed aggy. lol

good times . . .

I remember that game. Aggs had a lot of injuries and what was left got annihilated

I don't know if this is Burton's opinion or OTF heard it from a source, but they're saying DE Trey Moore is the best edge rusher the team has had in least five years.

He's been giving the OL fits at times, and is a piece of the defense that Coach PK really hasn't had since he arrived in Austin.

Went to many events and countless games there. Will not miss it!
Anyone old enough to remember doing class registration in there?
I remember registration in the "Drum". No computers. As I remember it, you had to find your class and sign up. It seems like I had to go on different levels to get all of my classes. If the class was full, you had to try again the next semester. Confusing and inefficient.

I saw many great concerts there. The Eagles, The Police, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, Van Halen, and many others. The acoustics were ok, better than other venues.
