Not sure if related at this time, but Scruggs at 247 saying he's close to entering a Texas pick for LB Tyanthony Smith.
He spoke with several people yesterday afternoon and apparently Smith is not as solid to A&M as previously thought.
IT saying the Texas side of things is bullish right now on him flipping.

Two defensive target notes from IT...
- if LB Justin Williams from Conroe Oak Ridge were to flip his commitment from Georgia, and that remains a big "if", Texas would be the likely destination over Oregon and others.
- they believe DE Solomon Williams of Tampa, FL would choose Texas in the coming weeks if the staff pushed, but that remains to be seen with two DEs already in the class.

On the flip Smith and Williams both are at position of need. Williams the highest rated but least likely to flip.
Another high rated is Filsaime also at a position of need Any one of these would improve recruiting class.

Not sure who Dotson is, but the other two are takes for just about every top team in America. I will say that Gideon needs to prove himself. He's the weak link of the coaching staff imho.
Perhaps part of the reason Black hasn't committed yet. Needs the Ok St season to be over so that his brother can announce a transfer...perhaps

Burton at IT said tonight Davis is "definitely not a priority."
He doesn't normally post in the recruiting thread, so maybe things are looking good with Filsaime and Davis reaffirming his A&M pledge is a result of Texas informing him they're backing off.
