Would you still have the same opinion if players get paid to throw games?   Don’t think sports betting has enough money flowing through it that organized crime won’t interfere? 

What is the relevance of this question to NIL? This type of payment was illegal before NIL and is still illegal after NIL. Heck, you can't even use NIL payments as a way of rewarding positive play on the field.

Sports for fun? Sports have been played professionally for over a century in the US. There has been a split between professional and amateur leagues but it is clear that college football is big business, a 2 billion dollar industry for power 5 schools. Hard to justify rewarding the labor with 40 thousand in scholarships when they are producing millions for the school. So yes, maybe we should start treating them as employees.

We have had to scandals in what the last 7 years? Busting coaches, students, businesses, and parents for pushing players, students, non athletic students on athletic scholarships to certain schools and etc. if I'm not mistaken.  The FBI busted and got them some of them jail time. They have done so in the past and will continue to do so they if provided proof of players taking bribes to throw games. 

The NIL deals are to be on the up and up. If they aren't the FBI and IRS will have field days busting these donors, these agents/parents for these kids, and unfortunately some of these kids.

And don't tell me that is hindering a player's ability to make more money. The NFL has anti-tampering rules. Contracts need to enter the scenario and an enforcement of the sit one year rule for 2nd transfers.

They definitely need to get a handle on tampering. Here is the unique thing regarding tampering in the NCAA vs NFL. We know that most of these deals are contingent on a player going to a certain school (which is against the NIL rules, but nearly impossible to enforce). We don't see NFL players being induced to go play for a certain team based on sponsorships. Phil Knight of Nike isn't offering NFL players 1 million dollars if they go play for the Seahawks for example. NFL fans just don't operate that way like college fans and boosters are currently.

So even if we do get contracts in place between schools and players, there is nothing to stop Phil Knight from reaching out to Jahdae Barrons agent about a 1 million sponsorship deal with Nike if he **wink wink** transfers to Oregon.

NIL money isn't a salary! It isn't a payment between the school and the player. It is a private deal between sponsors and the players. Athletes will get paid whatever value sponsors place on them, regardless of gender.

It sucks, but with how some of these states have their written NIL deals; the earlier these kids commit the earlier these kids start collecting. Plus some of these states need these kids to start collecting so the state can start taxing their state income.

It's "pay for play", but people want you to believe a HS kid's name, image, and likeness is marketable. Too funny, but I guess we deserve this after accommodating, coddling, and spoiling "student athletes" for decades. NIL is gonna be a helluva lot more expensive than under-the-table payments.

Oh - and just what we need - more incompetent government intervention and selective enforcement by these bureaucracies. Whee!
