I don't really see him as a first rounder. He is too small--not just height-wise. Can you imagine a DT or DE hitting him? I know there are 6 foot QBs but I'm not sure Murray will make it. His arm is strong enough but if I learned anything from the Bama game. You can rattle him by hitting him a bit. Any DC worth his weight in salt, would make his life miserable. He'd have to adapt or go to baseball.

If I were the A's, let him go to the NFL. He might have better luck playing in the NBA.

2.   He has had success in just about everything he has done athletically.   

I know he played for Aggie and then ou, but he was the best player in college football last year.  His size is the only thing preventing him from going #1 besides a lingering baseball threat.

Doug Flutie would be the obvious comparison... another QB people thought was too short.  

At the time they said he was too short to see passing lanes over OLine in the NFL. Although that never made sense to me since it's not like college OLines are that much smaller. Either way, like you mention with everything spread out now the passing lanes are more spread out also. 

Still Flutie had some good success in the NFL, and also in the Canadian leagues that had offenses then more like the NFL today. Murray's speed, arm strength, and vision will make him an intriguing prospect.

I hope he goes to the NFL. Curiosity more than anything. I'm still not sure he's ok with getting hit, and in the NFL, you gotta be ok with that. You look at Brees, and he's he's a bit short, but he'll stand in the pocket and deliver the ball. You can't make a living rolling out every play. Compresses the field too much. Also, in the NFL you might get flagged 15 for a late hit but they aren't going to throw you out of the game. Teams will see if he's willing to play hurt and get hit. It's just the nature of the NFL game. It's still shocking how hard they hit compared to college.
