Sounds like Kirk Johnson is indeed returning for next year. If he's finally healthy, he should be able to contribute. While he didn't play much at RB at all this year, he did participate on special teams through 9 games – without an injury. So this is promising.

If he can play RB next year that would be huge.  Johnson could take over the role Tre Watson played.  I say that and I haven't seen him carry the football since the 32 yard run he had against TT 3 years ago.  I dont trust Young at this point.  Plus it helps with talking Collin into coming back.

Just watching the bowl practices, he looks more explosive than any other back on the roster.

Where did you see clips of the practice
On OB. Media was allowed to watch practice for 15 minutes.

C. Rising and C. Thompson were running 3rd and 4th team. Hand spent a lot of time working with D. Okafor. A. Wheeler and G. Johnson were flying to the ball but A. Adeoye was just as quick or quicker than both. C. Sterns and B. Jones were full participant with Jones going 100%.

Young isn't even very good in short yardage. He should never touch another football here. He can't make anyone miss and is not very effective in moving the pile. Gotta find someone to replace what Watson gave us.

Whoa...isn't that a tad bit harsh? He's just a sophomore. He could become a short yardage specialist. He has the build and running style for that. JMO

Kinda what I was thinking.  I've seen him move the pile a time or two...
