So, according to this guy, D. Foreman basically said he was the only one putting out any effort and he called out Malik Jefferson by name and he called out the DB's as well as their position coach.

Also said that Andrew Fitzgerald said he thought he should be playing and that Buechele called out the offense in general.

Now think about this. Supposedly this was a players and coaches meeting only. And these kind of details are being leaked? Really?

Of course, you have to keep in mind that Super K co-started that website as an OU site and apparently he attended OU.

He has very good sources. That kind of information should not leak, but it happens.

Tom Herman is as sure of a thing as you are going to get from a Group of 5 coach. He has a knack for coaching strategy, gameplans, and offense that Strong does not have. Herman's coaching is almost a clone of Urban Meyer's: dominate field position, take advantage of mistakes and turnovers. and maneuver effectively in close games. To go along with Tom Herman's offensive knowledge is Todd Orlando, an outstanding defensive coordinator who understands how to deal with the players that he has. There are other benefits as well, such as Herman's ties to the state of Texas and UT and his ability to recruit. Herman also has a lot of confidence in his abilities and players, and players want to win for him. In his first year at UH, Herman mentioned that he was disappointed that fans were not showing up to the early games. He said that the team was working very hard, and he was certain that they would do well that season. They ended up beating Florida State in the Peach Bowl.

I've watched most of Houston's games, and I can tell you the UT fans upset about Navy have not been paying attention. That game was played in the wind and rain. UH has a weak offensive line, so they work around it by moving Ward out of the pocket so he can throw. However, the passing game was off for most of the game because of the remnants from Hurricane Matthew. Combined with Navy's disciplined rushing attack, and it was enough to push them over the top. Any criticism of Todd Orlando, the defensive coordinator, seems unfounded to me as well. While UH's rush defense struggled against Navy, it has still performed like one of the top rush defenses in the country. UH has also been able to scheme against potent and more talented offenses, as one can see with the games against Oklahoma and Florida State. The UH defense lost 1st round draft pick CB William Jackson III, LB Elandon Roberts (115 tackles), S Trevon Stewart (4 INTs), and S Adrian McDonald (4 INTs). Yet, the secondary has not missed a beat. Little-known CB Howard Wilson looks like a 1st team All-American.

I don't know for certain if Tom Herman can take Texas to the next level again, but the more I watch and compare the coaching at Texas and Houston, the more I side with Herman. Strong is deficient in areas where Herman is not. Herman continues to find ways to win; Strong continues to find new ways to lose. I don't see Texas winning 8 games. For one reason or another, Texas cannot play consistently in all three phases of the game. It just has not happened.

Granted, he said that D'Onta called out "a player" and "a position group and their position coach"... But it's pretty easy to figure out as NTG so astutely did. He also said that this is only the stuff he felt comfortable sharing, so there might possibly be even more info that was leaked to him

It's not often rare that anyone says I did anything "astutely". I'll take it  ;)

I have a problem with Herman... what has he done that's any different than Charlie?
This is the question that needs to be asked. Asking that question is not an attempt to bolster Strong or diminish Herman. It is how you determine if you have created a utopian version of Herman and how he might do at Texas versus allowing the facts available to lead to the answer.
Objectively, Herman took over a decent UH team. I cannot speak to the quality of team he inherited. I don't know enough. I have been impressed by a few things in particular. Herman has taken control of the program. The head coaching position is too big for some guys but it does not appear to be too big for him. I find UH to be a disciplined team, another positive in Herman's column. Herman landed Oliver (UH's first 5 star recruit). My main critique is that his team has found a way to lose a game to teams UH were supposed to beat (UConn & Navy) each season. That being said I think it is incredibly difficult for any coach to keep 20+/- year olds from believing their own hype.

If Texas goes a different direction my main hope is that everybody will be on board. I do not think it was a no-brainier that Mack would win a national championship but he won from the start and he caught lightning in a bottle.

I'm just saying Herman and strong both won at lesser programs. I just feel if we get Herman same thing happens that has happened so far with strong. We are just average.

My guess is that CS needs to win at least 8 games to coach UT next year. Six wins will not be enough especially with Tom Herman out there.

The President will have a tough call if we go 7-5.

In fairly similar situations, Strong's first 2 years as a head coach will pale in comparison to Herman's first 2 years as a head coach.

No way that we would be "average" with Herman.
