Its time to fire Strong

Very interesting interview on 104.9 with Brian Jones. He thinks it is 50-50 if Strong returns and said he is hearing he might resign.

Brian Jones also said that prior to the Oklahoma game Charlie or someone connected to Charlie may or may not have contacted Miami go gauge interest.

May or may not!

Seriously, Brian Jones said that! May or may not! OMG, how could anyone take Brian Jones seriously after he said that?

Wasn't he the last Horns LB to have the cajones to actually wear the Nobis #60? I digress......his commentary is silly and he probably knows absolutely nothing. He should be posting here!

Sitting here watching Gameday.  Have to admit I am a little jealous watching all these other fans excited about their football teams.  I miss those days.  Looks like another day to break out the VY awesomeness in 2006 Rose bowl.

The Glory days will return soon

If Charlie does remain at Texas then he only has one more year to get things turned in an upward trend  and I think anything less than 7 wins next year would pretty much be the end of the Charlie Strong era in Austin. This kinda reminds me of Dan Hawkins  who left Boise where he went 53 and 11 from 2000 to 2005 then bolted for Colorado.  He could never get going there and I think won less than 20 games over a 4 or 5 year period.

Lets assume they get a good OC, QB coach (get rid of Watson FFS), and another good recruit class.  There is still some uncertainty regarding QB.  I look back at the last couple years and not getting a JC QB was a mistake.  Granted Ash was unforseen, but we didnt get a JC QB last year.  I wouldnt count on a freshman like Buechelle.  Charlie hasnt played a true freshmen QB at Texas.

So if next year is Charlies do or die year, they better take a couple of chances on JUCO's.  Evans and ????

I think Charlie will take some chances on JUCO's especially on the offensive side of the ball. If Charlie can get the Offense moving in the right direction and that might be enough to buy him a 4th year even if we just win 6 games.  The fans are hungry for a productive offense that is consistant no matter who the opponent is or the QB for that matter.  We are currently ranked 93 in total offense.  If Charlie was to make the right changes and hell get us into the top 30 or hell even top 40 I think he gets that 4th year even with less than 7 wins .  How he gets there will be all up to him.

It makes me want to puke when I see TCU, Baylor, and Tech in the top 3 on total offense.  Big 12 defense...oxymoron.

Is anyone else tired of seeing teams plugin freshman QB's and not skip a beat..........and UT never can?

Isnt it awesome?  lets see Mahhomes for Tech last year, Stidham for Baylor this year.

But um we have to coach up our true freshmen so they can be somewhat average to shitty after redshirting LOL.

Watson is such a miracle worker, Im just surprised Ohio State hasnt kicked Urban Meyer to curb and grabbed our jewel of a QB coach.  Head coach of the offense blahahahahahahahaha.

Shit even TCU's backup is better than anyone on our entire QB squad.  But Noooooooooooooooooooo, its a process and takes time.  More like it takes time to suck and blow smoke up everyones ass.  Watson is such a Foliszdfjhoiasuhgdf bouhedf087sayeg bdv9gfedsaf SCAB.  And Strong is a f##king moron for bringing that D-bag with him.

Mason Rudolph

Stidham

Mahhomes

Yup only happens to our longhorns.

Screw it, back to the scotch and Baylor vs OSU game.

Ouch! 😩

The Painful truth.

I feel the same way

Idk how TCU is doing today.... But last week, they almost lost with that backup QB...to Kansas. Let me repeat... KANSAS. The same team that our backup that everyone thinks should move to tight end scored 5 (was it 5?) TDs against. Not EVERYONE can just plug in a freshman QB and have success.... We only hear about the ones that do because the freshman that get plugged in and struggle don't make the news.
