Cmon guys, dropped passes? I call BS. Worthy dropped a loads of passes for almost an entire season. Hell Worthy even flirted with USC xfer at one point. This has to be more than dropping passes. Its a shame I was rooting for this kid.
I dunno DMAC....We didnt have much besides Worthy. That is not the case now. We have a glut of uber talent. Cook simply never showed why he was deserving of more touches....at least IMHO

Dropped passes weren't the main factor, although they certainly didn't help his cause.

Cook broke team rules, showed up late to meetings, and had started becoming a cancer in the locker room. You won't hear staff say that, but a friend I have in the AD told me as much a few weeks ago.

That makes sense. It will be interesting to see where he lands(Oregon?). Given the way he is leaving, the next coaching staff is sure to understand his issues @ Texas. Hopefully a fresh start will help him get back on track.

Good speculation.

I think Wingo and Moore did more to earn more and more playing time. Not that either of them are a lot more talented, but I think their work ethic and blocking ability separated them from other younger players such as Cook. Good luck to the young man.

For next year, I think Bond is gone , but Golden comes back. I can't remember if Bolden is a Sr or if he can come back. Anyway, I think starters for next year will be Golden, Wingo, and Moore. Ffrench and Lockett have a chance to earn playing time and Livingstone and Butler should come along. Plus I think they will find a gem in the portal again.
Agreed with everything here.

He will definitely land somewhere good. I am willing to bet he does well wherever that is. I think he let his frustration get the best of him at Texas. He will go to a slightly less crowded room, get more targets, and do well. This was best for both parties.

Can Oregon afford him? They've already spent quite a bit on the WR room.

He needs to take things more seriously. You can't expect to get away with those things while no one else does, and get away with it

I think it was the best decision for everybody concerned.

Well we can rule out SEC teams. They have a one year sit rule for players transferring within the conference.

Looks like that restriction has been eliminated.

The 3 schools first to reach out first are Oregon, ole miss and Georgia.

I would expect a$m to reach out as well. Their wide receiver room sucks donkey dick.

I don't think this is a fair knock on Sark.

I know Worthy's plan coming in was to go pro after playing 3 years. I would think that was also the plan/expectation for Cook and any 5 star reciever or running back. This staff prides itself on player development which involves having rooms full of talented players that help each other and push each other. It sounds like Instead of embracing that culture he developed an attitude, which created a negative feedback that ended badly.

IDK for sure, but Sark may have taken those 3 top portal recievers partly to compensate for Cook's slow development.

Sark's job is to primarily field the best team he can every season. He added WRs to the mix, Cook started as 1st string in the Spring and even Fall camp. He got passed by other players who were performing better than he was.

Cook's job is to do whatever it takes to remain a 1st string WR.
