Cook no longer with program? Man talented WR….but portal and stellar recruiting solves that.

Wish him well.

Anyone know what happened and why? I wonder if he was in the doghouse thus the reason he hasn't played much lately.

He was supposed to have great hands.....but he dropped the ball too damned often for me to believe that. That last drop of a sure TD against Vandy did it for me.....Too many really good WR's for us to waste any snaps on him....

He was dismissed. Staff has not specified why and I doubt they will. We can only specultae there was a problem, not only with his play, but his behavior.

I would assume this was more about his behavior, vs his play.

Bad play from a 5 star is something that can be worked on. Bad behavior , and or bad attitude are disruptive to the team culture and unity, so presumably not tolerated.

Well, he couldn't get more playing time even when Bond was injured.

From CTJ

"I don't think the Cook departure impacts anything. Attrition has been baked into the plan at WR for this next cycle. Also, maybe don't drop perfect passes when you're wide fucking open and then you'll likely get more PT.

A complete implosion in the final stretch of games for OU will lead to Bedenbaugh being shown the door and could be enough to persuade Fasusi to reconsider. Someone should also let him know, maybe, that there is a lot of p#@sy in Austin as well. I mean, don't ask Carl to do it, but you get what I'm saying.

Georgia is going to try to oversign at DL because they can't handle the thought of standouts from their state going to their enemies. At the same time, there are guys who are damned good who can also look at a depth chart and others in their signing class and say "man, I like that school as much as Georgia, and I can get playing time and still go to the NFL as well".

Anytime ATM gets hot, so does their access to NIL. Interest undulates with losses, though. They seem more volatile on that end than places who have focused on a foundation. The Elk clearly also sees the world as Jimbo did - you must sign all of the DTs and Edges, even if it is at the expense of everything else.

Folks seem intent on believing that there are going to be a few late breaking surprises in Texas' favor for this 2025 class, mostly because it's happened in every class prior to this one. Maybe that's the case via Fasusi or something. I don't have the same POV as others for this cycle, however."

I don't have any information, so pure speculation , but based on reporting that this has been brewing. My assumption is the issues were all or mostly based on his behavior, either not following team rules or somehow not buying into the team culture Sark works hard to build.

If it was just a performance thing, you would think he would continue to work to try to earn playing time, and then portal when the window opens at the end of the season if he didn't think he was going to make the cut for a significant role moving forward.

Another aspect of this is NIL. I assume him being a 5 star, that he had a descent NIL deal, I slso assume that goes away when he leaves the team.

Good speculation.

I think Wingo and Moore did more to earn more and more playing time. Not that either of them are a lot more talented, but I think their work ethic and blocking ability separated them from other younger players such as Cook. Good luck to the young man.

For next year, I think Bond is gone , but Golden comes back. I can't remember if Bolden is a Sr or if he can come back. Anyway, I think starters for next year will be Golden, Wingo, and Moore. Ffrench and Lockett have a chance to earn playing time and Livingstone and Butler should come along. Plus I think they will find a gem in the portal again.

This is pure conjecture, but reading between the lines so to speak, it seems from what OTF said is that this was an attitude problem. Younger players were passing him on the depth chart and he got frustrated and started thinking about the portal. His performance declined and I'm sure the coaches got on him and things just spiraled from there. Think on this, Sark would never dismiss a player for poor play. Something happened that turned the coaches off.

Cmon guys, dropped passes? I call BS. Worthy dropped a loads of passes for almost an entire season. Hell Worthy even flirted with USC xfer at one point. This has to be more than dropping passes. Its a shame I was rooting for this kid.

UT Women Soccer will play South Carolina in SEC championship game Sunday! Beat the hogs 2-1 in 2OTs. Gooooooooaaaalllll!!
The team was probably looking at a 5th or 6th seed in the NCAA bracket (64 teams) heading into the SEC Tourney. Arkansas likely a 1 or 2 seed so this is a win that could help with seeding. South Carolina is a likely 3 or 4 seed so would be another quality win to add to the resume prior to seeding.

Winning 2 games in the tourney would match the best result all time (same as last year). Making an elite 8 seems unlikely however.
