Texas comes into week 5 riding high on an undefeated season so far. Winning big, playiing creative offense and stingy defense. Things are going our way even with some injuries.

This week, Texas dips its toes into the SEC conference waters for the first time with a home game against lowly Mississippi State (1-3). MSU is pretty bad. They've lost to Arizona State, got wiped out by Toledo and then again against Florida. Nothing seems to be going right for them.

I hope we see Quinn back for at least a half this week. I don't want him entering ou week with him being a little rusty. Let Arch take the second half to minimize risk.

The biggest thing I am hoping for this week is just no more injuries. This is a game we should win in a blow out. Empty the bench again.

Now, on to this week's games:

#20 Oklahoma State at #23 Kansas State

#15 Louisville at #16 Notre Dame

Arkansas at #24 Texas A&M

#2 Georgia at #4 Alabama

#19 Illinois at #9 Penn State

#21 Oklahoma at Auburn

TCU at Kansas

Colorado at UCF

Kentucky at #6 Ole Miss

Minnesota at #12 Michigan

TIEBREAKER – Predict the final score of Texas vs Miss State

The way Sark was talking last week, I wouldn't be surprised to see Quinn back. I agree, a good half from him, a quarter for Arch and then get some more snaps for backups.

Here are my picks

#23 Kansas State

#16 Notre Dame

Arkansas

#4 Alabama

#9 Penn State

#21 Oklahoma

Kansas

UCF

#6 Ole Miss

#12 Michigan

TIEBREAKER – Texas 59, Miss State 6

In addition, I'm calling an upset for this week. South Alabama will upset LSU.

Getting to some good games now. Tough week.

Kansas State - both teams coming off of losses, but OSU was at home. Both teams with 1 ranked team left on their schedule. Winner has a chance to control their destiny. Giving KState the edge here.

Notre Dame - on paper this seems like a close game but I'm not sure. Domer's run away with this one.

Arkansas - whoever establishes the run, wins this one. Arkie is a running team, aggies don't know what they are.

Georgia - Game of the Week. Smart is 1-4 vs 'Bama but Saban isn't coaching any more. I think Smart gets win #2.

Penn State - I think this could be close. The Nittany Lions keep the ball away from the Illini.

ouSux - Auburn isn't a very good team. ouSux is still trying to figure it out. This is a close one.

Kansas - neither team seems to be very good. Going with home team in a snoozer/squeaker.

UCF - this game is not in prime time and the Buffs have to travel a long way to get beat.

Ole Miss - first real test for the Rebels. can Kentucky hang around and steal one? not on the road

Michigan - Michigan has decided they're a running team. The Gophers could put 10 in the box and it wouldn't matter.

TIEBREAKER – Quinn starts and plays most of the 1st half - Texas 59 - MState 6

I agree with 90% of what you wrote above with the only difference being I think Bama gets this one and the Texas/Miss St final score.

Will be interesting to see how we scheme the Defense this week as we will be up against a similar offense after the bye week in OU. Both teams will have athletic QBs who can run but are limited at passing the ball accurately.

I'd say regardless of who wins the Bama/Georgia game, the winner could well jump Texas in the rankings.
I think you are right unless it's a blowout, which I don't think will happen unless one team coughs up the ball a couple of times. In the case of multiple turnovers, Texas stays at #1.

I think if Ewers starts, they turn him loose. This is the last tune-up before OU. It's all gas and no brakes until Manning's day is over. I think if Ewers starts, Texas will have 42-49 points in the first half. You can add 14-21 points by the offense in the 2nd half. If the D or special teams scores, MState will be praying for a rout 66 because unless Texas kneels it on every play at the end, Texas will hit 70 easy.

IMO, a blowout would assure a jump of Texas by either team. Beating a top 5 team in a blow out would certainly be more sexy than blowing out Miss State.

Tiebreaker: State's QB is gone for the season. Their RB1 is out for a while and their leading tackler is questionable at best....Texas 59 State 13
