If Saban called, I expect Sark would answer. If he answers, it depends on Saban’s relationship with Bama and Sark. And Sark’s thoughts on Bama. If Sark is Saban’s hand picked successor and Saban makes the call. It would be a tough decision. I don’t envy CDC.
Also, Saban is fully aware of how hard the job will be for whoever follows him. I highly doubt that he pushes someone he respects into taking that job. In 3 years when his replacement gets fired, I could see Saban making his recommendations heard loud and clear.I don't think there's a way in hell that Bama BMDs and admins would just give the decision to a retiring coach.
I'm sure Bama will give Sark a call. I know I would. But I don't think the job would be that inviting to Sark. He coached there for two years. That's it. Texas' roster is in better shape than Bama's right now. Sark has a lot of himself invested here.
And Sark is probably on the very small small list who can probably keep it going at Bama and that Saban would entrust it to.Also, Saban is fully aware of how hard the job will be for whoever follows him.
