*****GAME THREAD: #7 TEXAS LONGHORNS vs. TCU HORNED FROGS*****

Barely winning against crappy teams is no consolation. There are no excuses for this kind of rinse and repeat performance from these coaches and this team.
All of TCU's losses have been close with one exception, so they're not a bad team. Also, they were at home, playing for a bowl appearance, and playing us for their Super Bowl.

Actually, I think he has a tendency to stay aggressive which sometimes bites him. Today he seemed to want to be more conservative and run it down their throats to milk clock and also score. Just couldn't consistently impose the run. Our OL just isn't great at consistently run blocking, but it should come with time. Pass blocking was great tonight. QE's white jersey is still pure white.
Agree...This team is not flawless but has been improving. Run blocking, Defensive end pass rush and safety pass defense need to improve. Im glad to be 9-1 despite that. That said, we have played way too many tight games this year based on where this team it at.

yep. Texas is going to need some help if they want to make the CFP. Style points matter.

It's great to see solid progress in just Sark's third year. In either of the last two years we'd have lost some of these close games for sure. It takes 4-5 years for recruiting to really pay off, especially in the trenches. We're not necessarily playoff quality, but we're close.

I love Texas being 9-1, but this not a playoff team. I did not see J. Baron in the 2nd half, nor did I see Catalon. I think Baron got injured and didn't return. Saw a lot of #3 at the star position.

Texas already hit the floor with 9 wins. They have deficiencies that will not be fixed this year. The back 7 on pass defense is the problem.

Yes, our secondary isn't great. And TCU's demonstrated strength coming in was their passing game. Just couldn't stop that Williams kid.

Do we really want to see our defense against a Washington or Oregon ? Yikes !!
We may be better off from a recruiting perspective to just miss the playoff because we're vulnerable at some positions that any of those teams could exploit.

No! Even GA offense improving week over week. FSU would have a field day as would Ohio State.

We can’t cover WRs well when we play zone. No secondary or LB position is doing it well consistently.

That’s stupid. We play up and down to our oppponents. We are talented as we have ever been since 2005. Next years team will not be as good as this one if QE3 is gone and we starting a green QB without much experience. We can hang with everyone.
