Ok, so I guess holding will be allowed all day, and the replay official will burn the most calories tomorrow.
Ha! Kansas State will be the most disciplined the NCAA has ever seen. No holding, no PI, no false starts (they will be all defense induced), and no late hits or targeting.

This is correct. They're worried about the hits he will take. We need a clean game for him.

I'd say there is a 75% chance we see Arch go in. I think KSU is going to come after MM.

Okay fellow Horns, I will be back Sunday. Off to the lease for me.
Happy hunting.

you got a point, when they hired Fred Akers, said WHO

when they hired Mack Brown I said WHY

when they hired Charlie Strong I just shook my head

when they hired Jon Mackovic I said NOT HIM

I got caught up in the Tom Herman Hype and was willing to drive him to the outskirts of town

I liked David McWilliams and let my Burnt Orange get the best of me

I like Sark, I didnt want UM but I thought Sark was a great hire, and I still do

Ive lived and died with Texas since 1963, they broke my heart more times than the girls in school
I haven't lived and died as many years as you ;). One of my earliest memories is Chris Gilbert busting a long TD run listening on the radio with my dad.
I thought Akers was a good hire and I fell into the same trap you did with McWilliams. I thought Mackovic was a great hire because of his history with the NFL and especially the Cowboys. Then came Mack and I was underwhelmed, but gladly wrong. With Strong I was resigned to the fact that any coach we flirted with was getting huge pay bumps and he was the best choice at the time. Little did we know that his coaching prowess was directly tied to Teddy Bridgewater. With Herman I jumped in with both feet until the double bird embarrassed the hell out of me along with the EOT debacle.
I do think we have our coach now. He can be stubborn/arrogant, but I think he will self scout and learn. For me this season is right on track with everything I expected. CCG first.

Good luck Bud.

Akers thought he was a good hire and still do. He followed DKR and could do no right.

J. Mac. Great offenceive coach. Too stuborn to hire a good D. Cord.

Mack great politico. and recruitier done less with more than most coaches.

Strong never had a chance with big cigars. Really wanted him to do well.

Herman Good coach with his type of QB. Great in bowl games. Arrogentand no fit for Texas.

Sark Great recruiter and offence coach. Defence? Could be great at Texas if he changes a few things and discovers there are different way of doing things Do not force a square peg in round hole.

Just my take on past coaches post DKR.

Worst coach we ever had. He did not fail because of the big cigars.
He was not given the resources that the coaches before or after him had. He did enough to get in his own way, but he should have never taken the job without the proper funding. Herman followed him with a blank check.

He is not a speedster but I do agree, he could man an effective QB power run game.

The other problem, Sark does not often call designed QB runs.

The other problem, we are already down 1 QB.
Agree. And MM has a history of injury.

Like almost all failed hires, he seemed like a good hire at the time.

Considering his lack of success after he left, it seems silly to blame his failure at Texas on some perceived lack of support. Maybe Strong didn't push hard eneugh for facilities, maybe it was on the AD, but I doubt better facilities would have helped much. Seems like he just wasn't a good head coach.

Agree on the facilities, but better coordinators and coaches would have helped. He hired coaches on a budget.

Granted, he hasn't performed since he left, so who knows if all the resources in the world would have helped. Would have been nice to find out.

Loved Akers. Cut my teeth on his era. First game I attended we beat Rice by about 70 points and Erxleben kicked a record long field-goal.

Akers won a lot of games in an unexciting way (unless you love defense and special teams). Never had unified support. I think many wanted Royal’s DC maybe??

I don't mean to be that guy, but is Erxleben. I'm German so it matters to me.
