2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

I won't stand up for ketch too much but I think he was saying similar to Hank South. As in, my sources say its Texas but don't want the change of picks coming in before the decision.
lol, if that's what he meant then that would have been what he said.

Huge get at a position of need, given what we are likely to lose next year. Hope we saved a little NIL for Filsaime, he's now #1 on my board. Since LTG and BJ Allen don't seem likely to be contributors any time soon, we need someone to pair with Anderson in the back end.

FIlsaime and Black would be nice additions. Black is supposed to announce very soon.

Black said to IT "It's not public, but soon I'll be making my decision". Terry Joseph will be by to see him at his game this Friday. He plans to be at the Texas game against K-state on 11/4.

We have been waiting on this one for a while now, maybe it'll wrap up by mid-November?

Anderson?

Desperately need a good and quick safety. Let Filsaime start day 1

On offence if Mitchell and Worthy go pro will need 2 more WRS. Portal?

On defence 3 more DBS and2-1 LBS. IMO this couldwind up recruiting unless some one in aposition of need leaves. Then some rooms are over crowded and would not hurt if a few left. I would bet on it.

I dont disagree in general but Sark needs to take a look at how he uses the receivers. Back in the day, Greg Davis would load up on receivers, sometimes 6 in a recruiting class, and then not have a good game rotation. Sark also doesnt like a fluid rotation on offense, esp the receivers.

Next year Texas will have starter Mitchell coming back as well as two of the top WRs in the last two classes: Cook & Wingo.
IIRC, highly regarded WR, Neyor has eligibility left but might portal due to not getting playing time at Texas (injured most of last year). I doubt Texas can get a better receiver from the portal than Neyor - maybe... but why? find a way to get Neyor involved without getting hurt. Freshman DeAndre Moore is a 4* from St Bosco. He should be a contributor next year. 2024 class has a 5*, 4* & 3* coming in.

If Neyor leaves, then I could see bringing in a player or two from the portal, however, if Sark isnt going to have a receiver rotation, then how many does he need on the roster?

it will be interesting to see if MM spreads the ball around unlike QE was looking for #1 and there had to be others wide open as evidenced by the gap we saw when Sanders or even Mitchell got the ball

I remember Davis or Macks recruiting big receviers they let the number of OL go down. What started he slide downwards.

Mitchell might go pro. Worthycould come back also. So for Neylor has been injured and not contrubited not likely to change.
IMO 9 WRS is ideal number Darn keyboard.

Yeah, I'm not a coach and could be wrong but it looks like QE is still making his decisions pre-snap and hasnt progressed to reading the D as it happens (post-snap). IMO, part of that is ingrained by having all the players look at the sidelines for instructions instead of having the QB go to the line, put a guy in motion to see the defensive reaction (rotation?) and know what defensive player to cue in on to make a throw based on his reaction, regardless of the receiver.
