Through the top of the 4th. 0-0. L. Gordon has thrown 75 pitches, but has 7 strikeouts with 2 hits and a walk.

Thru 5 innings 1-0 Indiana. To compare the starting L. Gordon has thrown 85 pitches and the starter for Indiana is at 62.

Bats finally came alive in the bottom of the 8th. Getting a 3 run homerun from Brown to go up 4-2 Texas bottom 8th.

A few notes- CDC is working on getting a new scoreboard for the baseball team. Also, adding more seating down the 3rd base side.  CDC wants to get the baseball field back to grass, but that will be down the road.

Also, consider this that we are going to the SEC, currently-- #1 is LSU, #3 Ole Miss, #4 Auburn, #5 aggy, #6 Florida, #9 arkie, #10 Vandy, add to this  #20 bama, #22 Tennessee,  and #23 South Carolina.

We won game 1 with Imdiana 4-2. Gordon has pitched well enough in both outings to have at least 1 win.

Game 2 on Saturday at 1PM. On LHN.

I have no idea where  Joeywa is.

We probably could have had a better night of hitting if the wind wasn't blowing in. Several hits got held up to be caught. The wind should be blowing out the next 2 days.

2 wins with 3 more at home before going back on the road.

Two nice starts by Gordon so far - I think he is proving that he has the stuff to be the Friday starter.

Offense and Defense otherwise continue to be a bit shaky, we need these young guys to develop over the early season and we could be a handful come conference play.

After  5 innings. Texas 5-1.  After Morehouse walked 1, hit 2 and gave up 1 run. Bottom of the 5th, plated 4 runs, but Indiana's infield had a bad throw for a double play, and 1-2 hits that weren't fielded thus leading to the 4 runs.

Andre D. now on to pitch for Texas in the top of the 6th.

Andre D. Came in and promptly gets into a bases loaded jam. New relief pitcher gets a double play and a flyout to Cambell. Now 5-2 after 6.

Need to get better offensively, defensively, and pitching over the next couple of weeks as we have 5 or 6 straight top #25 opponents including tech, okie lite, tcu, LSU at home, aggy at their place.

Texas wins 5-2.  Wins the series  and going for the sweep on Sunday. Then LSU comes calling on Tuesday night.

Yea, 4 hits today was not impressive. Glad we won but that won't work against the better teams you mentioned above.

Pitching perhaps our strong suit so far. Overall ERA of 3. Really excited for Witt's return, if he is back 100%, we could really be a strong pitching team.

I believe the 4 hits were infield hits. Don't expect to get 4 walks, 4 errors, and 2-3 hit batters on Tuesday against LSU.  No one thought we had the power like last year until it happened last year. Kennedy, Cambell should be better hitters. Daly, O'Dowd, and Brown are probably better contact hitters. All are veterans, but other than Kennedy are off to slow starts at the plate. Don't know much about the USC transfers ( catcher and 3rd baseman), and others are freshmen thus they will be up and down at the plate at best.

I for one was very impressed by DJ Burke ?, the relief pitcher that came in and threw quick and hard. Not afraid to throw strikes and make the batters work to get hits. Not worrying about hitting corners like some of these guys do.

Nice work, David.
I am sticking to PBP on Twitter. It’s a boatload of work to do both Twitter and a game thread. Plus, after many seasons of religiously doing game threads here, I found that many times I was talking to myself here.

I've told you this before, I did watch most your game threads via my phone but I didn't/don't log in and I really appreciated it. Thanks again for all you did and still do!

Don't blame you for not trying to so two game commentaries at once but just wanted to let you know that while you did it here, your work was appreciated.

FYI: Horns up 1-0 thru 2; Porter Brown w/a solo HR in B1.
