Yes, my understanding is a 9 game SEC schedule is a done deal with 3 annual match ups.
This schedule was posted a while ago. I suspect it's close to what the schedule will be, ignore the annual match up with TT.
LMAO !!!
agree... I think the Bama game will be the key for how the B12 will treat Texas.LMAO !!!
Hopefully we can leave as Big 12 champs. But you know these crooked ass morons are going to try to prevent that
Surely they wouldn't make us play at Bama two years in a row.Let's use this as the alignment. Your 2024 schedule could be this gauntlet:
Week 1: Colorado State (They're terrible)
Week 2: @ Michigan (Obviously tough game)
Week 3: UTSA (Traylor has them rolling. Only getting tougher)
Week 4: @ Alabama
Week 5: Arkansas
Week 6: Oklahoma (Cotton Bowl)
Week 7: Florida
Week 8: @Kentucky
Week 9: @ LSU
Week 10: Ole Miss
Week 11: South Carolina
Week 12: @ Texas A&M
And it will be similar to this year after year! LFG!

I don't have a clue of exactly how they will determine the match ups. But you would think it would be based mostly on fan interest and money. You would also expect them allow the marquee programs like UT,ut,Bama, Georgia, lsu, Florida, aggy and 0u more say in the match ups.My version
A&M - LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St.
UT - 0u, Arky, Mizz
When I put this together I tried to keep everything either regional and/or traditional as in rivalry. All except Texas - A&M. They spit in our face and gave us the middle finger on their way out of the Big XII. They can bite me!I don't have a clue of exactly how they will determine the match ups. I think aggy and 0u are a given for us, and I would be surprised if arky isn't the 3rd team.
My guess is they will give lip service to "fairness of the scheduling", but at the end of the day fan interest which translates to money will mostly drive the process. When I put this together I tried to keep everything either regional and/or traditional as in rivalry. But there's this.
If you have an IT membership or maybe just an On3 you can go to this link to hear what Sankey had to say:
https://www.on3.com/news/greg-sankey-details-sec-scheduling-division-models-with-addition-of-texas-oklahoma/
For those of you who don't I'll try to paraphrase.
The single division model seems to be the choice.
Rotating teams more quickly through the schedule so 12 years don't elapse before a home and home is completed.
Using a 1+7 or 3+6 model.
Balance and fairness of the scheduling considering a single division while trying to preserve as many traditional rivalries.
The goal is to make these decisions as soon as possible before the Destin meetings.
This is going to be interesting. I think the 3-6 will be inherently unfair. If Texas has three tough rivals (aTm, Arkie, 0U), somebody else will have a weaker permanent matchups with Miss, MSU, Vandy, etc. When I put this together I tried to keep everything either regional and/or traditional as in rivalry. They want ESPN to pay more for the 9th conference conference. Probably why 7-1 keeps getting talked about. It's interesting he is still giving lip service to the 7-1 model. Maybe that's about negotiations with ESPN or certainschools, but 6-3 is the way to go.
One thing to keep in mind with schedules in 2024 going forward, with the 12 team playoff coming online there is a lot more wiggle room to lose several games and still have a chance at the end of the year. When I put this together I tried to keep everything either regional and/or traditional as in rivalry. With 16 teams, and either 8 or 9 regular season games each year there's always going to be some teams with a harder schedule then others. Hopefully they will use some kind of ranking to determine who gets invited to the SEC championship game, and not just SEC wins/losses.This is going to be interesting. I think the 3-6 will be inherently unfair. If Texas has three tough rivals (aTm, Arkie, 0U), somebody else will have a weaker permanent matchups with Miss, MSU, Vandy, etc.
I think one permanent matchup is the best option. In this regard, 0U should be Texas' permanent rival. aggy can have LSU.
