Might want to start paying attention to the weather. The traditional weather sources will soon (if not already) start adjusting their forecasts for the days just before and after Christmas.
I participate in a weather blog (I'm a hobby weather guy) because my job is dependent on the weather and I like seeing things well before they materialize. The chatter on this coming cold front is crazy. This is the website where aggiecutter and tecohorn are contributors. If you know them you know they know their stuff.
We're talking about the period between the 24th and 28th right now. Yesterday, one of the models had three straight days of below 0 temperatures for DFW. Thats insane, but one of the models put that forward.
It sounds like we'll probably end up with single-digit temps. There is a small chance DFW will see some snow flurries on Christmas Eve. SE Oklahoma will probably see a good snow fall event.
This will not be as bad as the 2021 winter storm. But no doubt, it will be cold. If the models keep pushing the ridge to dig further west, then we could be looking at some precipitation getting involved.
DFW has only seen 8 Christmas days with highs below 40. We will most assuredly see the 9th one this year.
