*****GAME THREAD: #18 TEXAS LONGHORNS vs. #4 TCU HORNED FROGS*****

Why is it so hard for people to accept common sense and so easy to accept and jump on the bandwagon of negativity?

The bandwagon of negativity takes less thought, less energy, and certainly alleviates disappointment. Why not?

Y’all may want to follow the handful of constantly negative posters we have here, but I don’t.  I love Texas Football and have for too many years to count.  That is not going to stop, and I am not going to bash 18 and 19 year old kids.

So get on or get off, but as others have suggested, please stop feeding the troll/s.
About that cold football feeling like a rock. Not sure if TCU had a football warmer? Maybe we could build a roof?

I completely agree.

My bad this morning, will not happen again

Watched the game was worse enough. This morning read on IT Sark said his QB played well enough or some thing like that.

Now I have no faith in Texas ever returning to good old days good under Sark.

For the wait till next year bunch count the seniors for next year.

As for as the refs. looked about usual for refs. now days. Three knock down punters one rouffing called.
He did, Eastex.

Think about it. We know Worthy breaks off routes & gives up on plays.  Are you certain Ewers overthrows, or does Worthy quit.

Ewers doesn’t seem to overthrow Sanders or Whittington.  Does he?

if I were Ewers, I don’t think that I would throw it to Worthy again.

Hope I am not misunder standing you. But Ewers did not have a good game same as Okie Lite. Sark can say what he likes but I do not have to belive him

I think Worthy is clearly frustrated and it is affecting his play. He had such a break out freshman year and I’d think he expected this season to build on that. Unfortunately, it has been a struggle for him for a variety of reasons. He is still a very young kid and I’d guess struggling to work through these difficult times. Hopefully he continues to work hard and develop through them.

He wasn’t as on as he has been at times. I think they run the 3-3-5, which gave him some trouble before.  However, with the defense playing lights out, he did play well enough to win.

If you recall, neither Vince or Colt could put games on their back as redshirt freshen or redshirt sophomores. Quinn is the equivalent of a Freshman.

Worthy is another young one. Think he is a sophomore. Sanders is a freak, mature beyond his years. Whitt is strong and mature.

No Ewers did not play well enough to win. If he had Texas would have won.

might as well say if Horns had scored 30 points they would have won

TCU out played them and won same as The 6-0 game when DKR coached. that one hurt more

The refs. the wind young players is just excuses for losing to a better coached team IMO.

Man I was proud of the way the defense played. Take that long run and busted coverage and TCU got nothing. PK has those guys playing fast and physical. Nobody is talking about Texas is soft anymore.
It came down to a young offensive line and and young QB and TCU wasn’t going to let Bijan beat them. You can bet the next two games will be that same recipe. Until maybe next year, I’d like to see Sark crap can that deep ball and find ways to get Quinn some intermediate throws and let some of our speed run after the catch. You do that enough it will back some off the LOS and then maybe the run opens up. That deep ball hasn’t even been close and then Sark runs the ball on second down and gets stacked up and now we’re way behind the chains. I know Sark is a good offensive mind, but sometimes I would like to see him get more playmakers involved. We force to much to Worthy. It’s hard to be a head coach at Texas and also coordinate the offense. We could win the next two and it would be a good improvement. We’ll see.

Sark is going to give coach speak. No coach is going to give some what they want to hear. I am far from done with this coaching staff, are there still coaching adjustments that I would like to see ? Sure. But sometimes talent and age help with those. What I see is a program being built from the offensive and defensive lines out. I see improvement in defense, and some struggles by a offense that is starting 2 true freshman offensive lineman, and has other liabilities on the line. As for about Colt, Vince and many others have struggled at times in their freshman and sophomore years. Point is instead of just being done with Sark as some have suggested let’s try for some continuity, with a coach who is trying to build depth and culture. Sometimes that doesn’t happen overnight. Imagine if Clemson walked away from Dabo in those tough early years, heck Texas fans wanted to walk away from Mack in his early years here. I want to see this develop before I make any judgements

I think its both plus one other thing to consider Worthy is spotting some of these guys 20-25lbs, he gets separation but I thing he has a case of the alligator arms on crossing routes and slants, he is a talented guy but when Ewers makes a back shoulder throw, XW is always looking the wrong way. I think QE is throwing to an open spot, and it doesnt seem that XW makes the adjustment when the ball is in the air, I also think QE has a tendency to chuck and duck and part of that is his inconsistent footwork which leads to inaccuracy

I'm not sure you're allowed to use logic on message boards.  ?

Just curious how different everyones take will be if we wind up 6-6 and lose to Kansas yet again.

Definitely would not be happy, but still have to give Sark one more year. If 2023 is a turd, then we may be back to searching. Hopefully, the OL continues to develop. Terrible game, but I think there has been progress this year. The defense performed way better than expectations and was missing a starter. I think most of us expected the defense to allow 30-40 points to the TCU offense.

I completely agree.

Oh, the troll won the common man pick for the 5th time. Guy doesn't know shit.

For sure, Sark will definitely be here to welcome Arch to the 40 acres.  I am not advocating for his firing but I do think that pressure from CDC needs to be brought to bear on Sark for last nights fiasco.  Agree the D played well for 4 quarters and desrves credit for holding TCU to 17 pts.

An important aspect of the game that many overlook is how critical it is for players to spend years in the same system to learn and develop. One of the defensive players recently shared that their play has improved because it has taken two years to learn the defense better. Same thing can be said for the offense. Read that Banks doesn't yet understand all their OL blocking schemes, but has been effective out of sheer brute force. If I recall, DKR said a team will lose at least one game for every freshman who is starting. He understood how important development time is.

Fortunately CDC understands that it takes years to develop a seasoned winning team and culture from the bottom up. Consistency of coaching and and scheme is critical to making that happen. I don't see any indication that Sark and his staff are not up to the task of providing that development and leadership. I know it's painful to watch sometimes, but give it a chance to work.

Tennessee, TCU, LSU and USC says hello ?
Give UT 6-10 years, rebuild the stadium with a roof, round up some resources and players. Be patient.
