University of Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is o-fer in his last four true road games. Saturday's game is one he needs to win, not just to get the monkey off his back, but to keep his team in the hunt for a Big 12 Championship. Whether it's in Stillwater or in Austin, the matchup between these two programs is always bold, full of energy, and full of offense. Expect Saturday's contest to be no different.
Texas begins a two game road stretch, with a bye week in between, facing Oklahoma State at Boone Pickens Stadium. The Pokes lost their first game of the season last week at Amon Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, but Mike Gundy's team is still very much in the hunt for a Big 12 Championship. Texas has had trouble winning on the road under Sarkisian, which was emphasized by the team's loss in Lubbock to an unranked Texas Tech program. A win is a must-have for both programs if they intend on appearing in Dallas in December in the league's title game.
Oklahoma State is facing quarteback uncertainty with starter Spencer Sanders nursing an ongoing shoulder injury. Texas is facing a game in hostile territory and needs to prove that they can win in such an environment.
Gundy's Cowboys have won their last twelve games inside Boone Pickens Stadium and the Longhorns face a tall task in ending that streak.
