Ewers Chuck an Duck style didn't last long. He tosses the ball to a general area whether there is a receiver open or not on the deep ball, and only hit 1 in 1-1/4 games. His long ball game is only potential, no stats. 

IF Ewers comes back is the Million dollar question this week, the way he stayed down I'd guess not anytime soon, likely surgery for a separated shoulder.

As far as Card running, glad he FINALLY did to some degree, he was ranked right behind Bama's Young out of high school for that reason, but dual threat isn't a called play in Austin, only run for your life. He was also an outstanding receiver, so he can handle himself. In the State title game as a soph., he ran the QB draw to bring the team back, so he ain't scared.

The majority of the Texas O-line is exactly 3.5  months out of high school. Just exactly how would you have game-planned for Bama with a young O-line? The short passing game was working exceptionally well until Ewers went out.

The game plan started well, but obviously was changed after the QB switch. Should have stuck with it if Card was "good to go". We went conservative right away. Never attempted a 4th down. Played for FG's. 

We'll never know what might have been, but we likely will have Card against UTSA, so we'll get to see more.

We played great as a team, especially without a healthy QB for 3 quarters.  Defense was swarming and the way the team looked gives us a chance to have a good year.

Asfor as scheming Sark did a great job in first quarter. Both coaches made some bad calls then thats normal. Refs made some terrible calls and hurt both teams

I thought Card played a very good game, his injury hurt on what plays could be run.

Ifrecruits were not impressed bythis game'seffort then they never will be.

Drops ABSOLUTELY count on the QB's stats as an incomplete pass. But I'm not banging on Worthy as that pass he caught later with his helmet being almost yanked off his head was a helluva catch. 

Deep balls, even when they go incomplete, are statements to the defense that we are going to take our shots. I applaud Sark for that because it does open things up. 

Bottom line is that in order to beat Bama, you have to get 6's and not 3's. I thought the no call when Robinson (the other Robinson, not Bijan) clearly had his facemask yanked on the final drive was huge. It's first-and-goal inside the 10 instead of second and five from the 18. We may not score 6 on that drive, but maybe we do and Bama then has to get a TD for the win. 

This officiating crew was pretty terrible even with Bama getting flagged 13-14 times.

I figured it was a loss today.  I dont care for moral victories but this team fought hard and we should have won this game.  We outplayed them.
