On the Men's side, we compete in 3/7 of the triple scoring sports and 6/13 of the regular sports. Even in our best seasons, that is hard to overcome.https://www.capitalone.com/capital-one-cup/
The women will end up tied with Stanford for the Capital one cup.
This is very impressive because the capital one cup gives three times the points for finishes in 7 women's sports and Texas only competes in 4 of those (Stanford all 7).
The other 14 women's sports that are included, Texas competes in 7, Stanford 10.
Yep, it's different. Similar idea but different formula. I think the idea behind having tier A and Tier B sports is to emphasize the sports that are more popular overall (football, basketball, baseball for example) and giving more points for them.So I'm assuming that the capital One Cup different than the Director's Cup? I ask because it shows Stanford winning both the men and women's last year which would make them the overall winner. Why do some sports (which ones are they) count as "triple" and others don't?
We have the points to win. But it won’t be announced until baseball is over.Did we win the directors cup or not?
As many as we got for football…How many points did we get for Jaskaran Singh Wins First-Ever Jeopardy! National College Championship?!?! ???
It's a done deal. Scores will be released on Thursday but these won't include baseball. Final scores released after CWS wraps up.Did we win the directors cup or not?
All Texas sports matter!Wake me when we win something in a sport that matters.

Texas starts their Director's Cup championship defense, looking for a three peat. Fall sports are few and not our strength but good finishes here can make it near impossible to hold Texas off in the Spring. If Texas puts up even a few zeroes, the odds of winning fall drastically.
#1 Texas volleyball started strong, traveling to Columbus and beating #7 Ohio State in 2 matches, 6-1 sets overall. They were upset in the elite 8 last year and look like strong championship contenders once again.
Texas went on to sweep Stanford. 4 high quality wins to start the season. The level of competition drops with 4 easy non-conference home matches before Big 12 play starts. Baylor and Kansas are the only other Big12 teams in the top 25...so don't look for Texas to be challenged much this season.Volleyball with another impressive win to start the season, taking down #4 Minnesota 3-1. #12 Stanford next up this weekend.
